- what day it is
- how many hours I’ve spent shoveling
- how many snow plows I’ve seen that have NOT gone down my street
- how many more inches we are supposed to get this week
- how often I’ve checked the school website to see if there is school tomorrow
- the number of counties around us that are out of school at least until Thursday
- the number of times the kids have asked to play Wii
- the number of times I’ve let them
I should be thankful for…
- heat
- power
- LOTS of cross training in the form of shoveling
- my treadmill
- a brewpub we can walk to
- a grocery store we can walk to
- a fully stocked refrigerator and pantry (both beer and food)
- kids who are being generally well behaved
- a husband who has worked his tail off removing snow
- the fact that hubby did not have to go to work today
- my awesome neighbors who’ve worked with us to clear the street and have provided chances for conversation with other adults
- my current training plan which is mileage heavy enough to tolerate a totally blown week (although I may do 14 on the treadmill in 2-4 mile increments on Wednesday)
It’s been a long four days and I expect it’s not over yet. I will be absolutely shocked if Jones goes back to school tomorrow. And there’s another snow event coming on Tuesday night. And I’m just worn out. Maybe someday I’ll be able to talk about beer and running, instead of snow.
Snow is the hot topic!! And with more on the way our muscles will stay nice a pumped! Remember use those legs, save your back. 😉
Yeah, I'm a major snow-lover, but this is getting out of hand. I've had enough adventure! I miss the gym!!
Beer + Snow = Beer Cones!
UGH! sounds miserable! hopefully the sun will be out soon to melt it all away. that is way too much snow! doesn't mother nature know we have marathons to train for?! good luck!
With all the power outages around us, I'm SOOOOO glad we didn't lose power this weekend. Wednesday might be a different story though. All good, though. Beer should stay cold in these temps in the garage.
We want snow so badly and your section of the country does not! This is a screwed up year weather wise. I liked your list. I would love a snow day but it is not happening here! Do your kids like the snow?
I still can't believe that weather. You and your family are such troopers! Focus on the positive…focus on the positive…
I am so with you! SNOW SNOW GO AWAY!
I would be scratching my eyes out by now. Please tell me you have a huge stash of beer and chocolate??!!We are getting nailed right now. We will have a foot and a half of snow on the ground and school will still be in session. grrrrr.
So sorry. We're getting a lot more snow than we're used to as well. It's coming down quite quickly right now. I'm just happy to see that your Thankful list is longer than your Lost Track of list. 🙂 And knowing that, I'm sure you can still put a smile on your face.
I liked the lists. Maybe the weathermen will be wrong about Tuesday's predicted snow event. I'll cross my fingers for you.
I hear you on the snow. While I didn't have to go out there and shovel, it's still a nightmare around here. And I hear at least another 12" tomorrow! Ugh!
I wish we were getting snow. I only have a couple inches in the yard and the mountains don't have much either. We will be in a drought this summer if it doesn't change!
Great post! We got a royal snow dumping here as well! Good thing you can walk to the brewpub!!
I HEAR YOU!! I think we've had 3 bottles of wine in the past 3 nights! Ahh!
I am overwhelmed FOR you. Hang in there, Mama!
Stay warm and hopefully you wont get as much snow as they are predicting! At least you have a grocery store within walking distance!!
Yuck, too much snow! And 14 miles on the treadmill, that just sounds crazy. It's early in your training plan, you can definitely recover from a little setback.
That's just some crazy weather! Especially for your neck of the woods! Hopefully all returns back to normal soon!
