Wait, that was many feet, one pair of shoes.
So, maybe Goldilocks. But that only took her three tries.
Crap, I’m not up on my fairy tales. What can I say, I’m the mom of two boys – all I hear about are legos and ninjas LOL.
But, seriously, I do feel like I’m on a quest for the perfect shoe and I can’t quite find the right one. I love all of them, but each and every pair comes with a drawback.
Here’s what’s currently in rotation:
My solution for now: slowly increasing my mileage in the options that seem to be working best right now: Vibrams and my feet. I’m sure I’ll bore you regularly with the progress.
On tap today: 8-10 miles, likely in a combination of regular shoes, Vibrams, and barefeet. Should be interesting.
I know what you mean about the quest for the perfect shoe. And just when you have found it the company comes out with an updated version. Ugh!I'm curious to try the Nike Lunar Eclipse+. Maybe it will be THE shoe!
Wow, that is a lot of shoes for a rotation!
Good Luck! be interested to hear how it goes! Perfect shoe..i'm convinced at least for me there is none!
Yep I'm still looking for the perfect shoe – planning to add the Pure Connects to the rotation next.Good luck with your mileage increase!
That is a lot of running shoes. Its to bad you can seem to get one to work for you. I tried the Saucony Kinvara's they just didnt have enough cushion for my forefoot which I've been having problems with. I ended up getting the Saucony Contana still a miminalist shoe but with alittle more cushion at the forefoot. I would have to say I really am liking this shoe. Good luck on find something that will work for you.
Barefoot running allows your foot to splay out, so it may be that you've become accustomed to that feeling and because some shoes inhibit that, it feels uncomfortable. I have really wide feet so need shoes with wide toeboxes anyway, but if you're looking for a minimal shoe that allows your foot to splay like it does barefoot, you might want to try the New Balance minimus (road, not trail). I find my Newtons also have a big toe box. Good luck!
I didn't realize how squashed my feet were in running shoes until I started wearing newtons and had room to spread out. but I like your line up!
I'm lucky: I've run in the same shoes for years! (Same model, not same pair.)Good luck with the rotation and the continued quest!
Haha, I posted a photo of all my shoes today too. I think switching it up is a good thing.
Your feet look like they were MADE for Vibrams, especially with your toes sitting apart like that. Amazing how we adjust!
you sure are trying more than a fair amount of shoes. hope you find something that works and is comfortable – be it shoes, vibs, or bare feet.
i like this rotation you have 🙂 i have tried barefoot a couple times but so far can't get myself to stick to it, especially on the mill that hurt me
Hope you find shoes that will work for you! A repeat from twitter, but I have the NB minimus (older style) which are designed with a wide forefoot to allow toes to spread naturally with your footstep. They've worked well for me. I'm guessing that your feet are too small for men's sizes (which would be D widths)? As much as Asics tries to say otherwise, your shoes don't know what part of the month it is, etc 😛
