It’s not exactly a secret around here that I love Skirt Sports. I’ve been running in the Happy Girl skirt for years now.
In fact, I love them so much that I got chosen to be one of the Skirts Sports Ambassador Captains. But let’s get real here – I’d wear their skirts even if I wasn’t an ambassador. And I’d try to convert all of you to skirt runners as well, because I happen to think they make some great products.
But here’s the thing. Even though I spent a lot of time in my Happy Girls pre-run, I very seldom wore them post-run. And if I wasn’t running that day? I was unlikely to put on a skirt. I just didn’t tend to wear athletic clothing when I wasn’t working out or planning to work out soon.
Nicole DeBoom changed my mind about that. She mentioned on instagram that one way to save packing space was to workout each day in the outfit you wore the previous day. Suddenly a light bulb went on in my head and I packed for Asheville with that in mind.
(Just an FYI: the following links are affiliate links. That means if you buy something from them, I get a bit of money to feed my Skirt Sports obsession. And there’s a huge end of season sale going on right now!)
Anyways, back to Asheville. I packed 3 Happy Girl Skirts as my bottoms for most of the trip and a Free Me tee, a Don’t Sweat It tee and the Katherine tank as tops. I also packed a cute non athletic skirt and two pairs of shorts, just in case. Spoiler: I never wore my shorts or other skirt. Good thing we had a washer and dryer in the VRBO house.
I traveled in Skirt Sports. (yes, I was working using a mobile hot spot while Beer Geek drove.)
I visited a brew pub in Skirt Sports.
I hung out in the Presidential Suite in Skirt Sports.
I hiked in Skirt Sports.
I went out to a brewpub in Skirt Sports.
I hiked some more in Skirt Sports.
I went out to another brewpub in Skirt Sports. (I, um, did that pretty much every night.) I may even have run home from the brewpub with a six pack on my back…
I white water rafted in Skirt Sports.
I went out to lunch with friends in Skirt Sports.
I hiked yet another hike in Skirt Sports.
Oh, and I ran in Skirt Sports, a whole lot of times.
The only thing I regret? I didn’t pack enough skirts.
Have you tried Skirt Sports? No? You should. The new patterns are awesome. And the older patterns are on sale right now. Just sayin’.
And we aren’t going to talk about the fact that I have decided I like the Gym Girl Ultra on hot days. Because then I’d have to admit that I’m buying a whole new set of skirts. Good thing I’ve got them all organized.
Disclaimer: I am a Skirt Sports ambassador, but I was not asked to write this post and all opinions are my own. There are affiliate links above.
I love all things skirt sports too. And you know me 🙂 I’m a mess. I mainly use mine for…nonsports.
Very cute and good idea. I have a black Shebeest skirt that I wear to and from bike races. I can change into my bike shorts underneath it in the parking lot without having to flash my lady parts to the world. Any it is comfy. I’ll have to check out skirt sports. Do they have a lining?
I love sport skirts! You wear them well!
I need some new skirts, thanks for the reminder 🙂 And I hadn’t thought of wearing them while not running. Great idea!
I also love Sports Skirts and live in my Lotta Breeze capris! Perfect for all seasons!
So many of those skirts don’t look like running attire. So many great patterns to choose from!
I love skirt sports. I could never properly rock a running skirt until I tried theirs it fit perfectly and did rise up in that back. Love it and my leggings from them.
Great planning and packing! Looks like a fun time was had by all
I like running in skirts, but I don’t think I could wear them out and about. I am tall with long legs – even when I buy the “tall” skirts from the brand I favor, they are still pretty short.
Love that plaid one though.
This post made me smile! Just this weekend my husband challenged me to start wearing my running skirts in real life. I haven’t been running as much since I started Crossfit so my fun skirts (read as expensive skirts) have just been sitting in the drawer! Glad others are challenging the status quo that running skirts are just for running or playing tennis. =)
Lovely and inspiring pictures.
I love a good run skirt and being able to wear it out in public. Your pictures are really fun!
You really can wear them as everyday wear – very cute! I still haven’t tried them, but your inspiring me to give them a go!
What a great packing strategy! SkirtSports was my first ever brand of running skirt back in the day. : )
I’m starting to see a pattern forming in your holidays. All activities must be bookended with a brew pub visit. Takes me a while but I catch on eventually.
I do love my running skirts! I have the Skirt Sports marathon skirt and I just love it!
So I love skirts and I wear my Lululemon ones everywhere. For some reason, I haven’t found one that I like with Skirt sports to run in sadly. I’ll have to look around again.
I love that you wore your running skirts on your trip! Why do we save them just for running? Great tip.
I loved Asheville. I went white water rafting there 20 years ago and it was fun and great. Glad to see you had a ball.
Gorgeous hike! I am not much of a skirt person… but yoru skirt(s) are super cute!
Congrats on becoming an ambassador! It’s always great to be recognized for promoting a brand you love. 😀
These are great pics and experiences! I have not tried skirtsports but I really like that they look casual enough to wear in every day life too as opposed to just running.
Until now, I’d never heard of Skirt Sports! Your pictures and activities were terrific. This is what I love about blogging; learning new things and maybe trying them out. I’ll take a look for sure.
I do love me some running skirts, and I’m packing a few for my trip to Florida as we speak!
Would you wear a running dress?
Skirt Sports is coming out with two dresses this spring. I totally plan to try them out.
