Not my running standards. I ran a nice 4 miler on the treadmill today in 35:36.
However, I am apparently lowering my personal appearance standards (and some might say my personal hygiene LOL). Today we dropped Jones at art camp for an hour and a half. Shoo went down for a nap relatively quickly, leaving me with 45 minutes to run four miles and clean up so we could pick up Jones. I had no problem getting the run done, but between getting ready and the actual running, I was left with about 7 minutes to clean up and get Shoo out the door. Needless to say, I was still sweating when we headed out, so even though I changed out of my actual running clothes, I ended up looking like I’d just run in what I was wearing. I’m a pretty casual person, but I don’t usually head out the door with wet hair (and it wasn’t wet from a shower, eww), wearing gym shorts and a tank top. That plus the extremely red face made me look just lovely.
Things are going well so far on the weight loss challenge. I’ve been practicing “inefficiency”. We live in a two story house with a finished basement. The “office”, laundry room, overflow pantry, and one of the bathrooms are in the basement. The bedrooms and the second bathroom are on the second floor. Normally, I pile things near the stairs and then when I have to go up or down, I take stuff where it needs to go. Today, anytime I had something that belonged on a different floor, I took it there. Given how messy my kids are and how much random stuff we have lying around, I was up and down the stairs a LOT today. I also finally successfully completed Week 2, Day 2 of the pushup challenge. So, Marcy, BRING IT ON! We’ll see who wins this competition. :o)
Ooohhhh girl you better step it up, I’m almost outta the woods with Week 3 😉 Yeah right, who am I kidding? LMAO!
Eh, if you were just picking your kid up, what does it matter how you look? It’s not like you went out to dinner without showering.
Great run! Had to laugh at the wet hair and not from a shower-eww comment. Too funny. I almost always work out before I pick up the kids from day care, and sometimes I throw on a different shirt from my workout tank, and sometimes I don’t. Pretty much always look sweaty and yucky, but who cares? If I didn’t, I’d be fat again and look bad all the time instead of just after a run, ha.
Good luck with the weight loss challenge. I’m sure you’ll get the little bit of extra off in no time flat!
And I love the idea of you being my DC Swag motivator! My minimum goal is to run 4 days a week, and bonus goal is to lift weights 2 times a week. I also really want to get to 145 lbs. by the time the Half Marathon is here on October 12th. Remind me of all this next time I’m whining about falling off the wagon. =)
