Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart Bars were provided to me for review. All opinions are my own.
Confession: I’m a snacker. In fact, I usually have two snacks a day. Depending on what I’m doing, I might have a morning snack and push my lunch later or eat a snack between lunch and dinner to keep me from being STARVING before dinner. And then I always (ok, 99.9% of the time) have a “bedtime snack”. We eat dinner before 6 and I’m usually up until midnight. If I don’t eat something, I can guarantee you I’ll hurt someone in the morning.
Add in Shoo’s soccer, an evening run club, Jones’ cello lessons, etc and you’ll find me absolutely relying on snacks to survive. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out the Manitoba Hemp Heart Bars, I signed right up. I’d heard so many positive things about hemp hearts that I was intrigued and I figured a bar would be a “safe” (AKA tasty) way to try them out.
The bars did not let me down. Not only did I enjoy the taste, but they have 10 grams of protein, 10 grams of omegas and fewer than 10 grams of sugar. Add in the fact that I can pronounce all of the words in the ingredients and I’m a happy camper. The vanilla flavor was good and I’d definitely eat it again, but the chocolate was amazing.
Not just because it tasted good, but because it fulfilled a craving. I was having a rough day and needed chocolate. I chose one of the Manitoba Harvest Hemp Heart bars because it was the healthiest chocolate option I had, that did not involve spending time cooking. It was tasty. But the best part? Instead of triggering a sugar binge, it filled my belly and my tastebuds and I stayed full until dinner. Since sugar is my kryptonite, this was huge.

Wondering why I haven’t talked about the apple cinnamon flavor yet? It’s my emergency bar right now. What? You don’t carry a bar or snack around in your purse for “I’m going to chew my arm off” situations? I know it will only be a matter of days until I need it, but for now it’s safely tucked with my money and credit cards…

These bars sound so good! And yes! I have an emergency bar or a little bag of nuts in my purse at all times :).
I keep meaning to pack up a box of snacks to keep in my car – with soccer practice 3 times a week, someone is always hungry when we are driving somewhere.
With my busy schedule, I can totally relate. I can’t survive without snacks either. These look great! I’ll have to look for them.
