I was planning to talk about how excited I am about this vacation (now that I’m mostly packed. I spent most of the day cursing as I tried to pack while a certain three year old tried to dismantle my house). And I am excited, really.
But I just got news that a close friend of the family has taken a turn for the worst. He’s been fighting cancer for years now and has survived for much longer than we all originally expected. Unfortunately, he’s reached the end of all possible treatments and the tumors are growing rapidly and crowding his lungs. My mom told me that if I want to say goodbye, I should call before we leave tomorrow.
Since I can’t seem to put any words together, I’ll just say I’m hoping to meet Jess while we are down there and I’ll “see” you after Easter.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope you have a safe and relaxing trip!
Tough news. Sorry to hear that. Try to enjoy the trip to Florida.
Sending good thoughts your way. Maybe a break will be a good thing.
Sorry about your friend. I hope you can still relax and enjoy your trip.

That’s sad news. Have a good trip, in spite of it. I’m sure your friend would not want to put a damper on your trip.
I’m so sorry about your friend. Be safe and enjoy yourself on your vacation. Take care.
I’m sorry to hear about your friend – cancer really sucks, which would be the understatement of the century.Safe travels.
I had a sister who, about three years ago, died of lung cancer. It is absolutely the worst ever. It was just heart-wrenching to watch and so unfair – it was soul-searingly painful and it still haunts me.I am so sorry to hear about your friend, sister. There is really not much else anyone can do or say in situations like this, but my heart goes out to you, your friend, and your friend’s family.
I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s struggle. Such a horrible, unfair disease. You’re in my thoughts.
very sorry to hear about your friend 🙁
