6 days into November and I’m about ready to mainline coffee. That’s a thing, right? OK, probably not, so I’ll just make another big cup to get me through the day while I join Coco and Deborah for a little chit chat.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m so glad to finally finish the Marine Corps Marathon Trifecta. Who knew that getting that last 10K in was going to be such a challenge? I actually had a good run once I decided to do it, but it took me FOREVER to motivate.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I randomly jumped on a Ragnar So Cal virtual team. Thankfully, Ragnar has made all of their virtuals free and teams can be random sizes. The only goal is to run 3 times in two days. Apparently I’m addicted to Ragnar even when I’m not able to run real Ragnars. The best part is no lost sleep and no bears…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that we were supposed to be doing a beer relay this weekend. Unfortunately, having close connections to a high risk person made us defer to next year. But I found out two of my friends are doing it without a car – one will bike while the other runs. What a brilliant idea!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that 3 years ago I accidentally got a job with ZOOMA Women’s Race Series. What started as very part time online work has blossomed into lots of amazing opportunities. It’s like every skill I ever learned in any job I’ve had has led me to this position. Despite the craziness of 2020, I’ve been busy and challenged and the company is doing well. Lesson learned: take that leap of faith – you might just land in the perfect place.

2020 has not been the year any of us expected and I know there are still many challenges ahead, but I just keep looking for the good in every day. And most days there is some.
How are you doing? Has 2020 brought any unexpected benefits for you?
I guess a benefit early on of 2020 was having both of my kids and my husband home full time. Not sure they would all agree! I did love having us all together. Your Zooma job sure does sound like it was made for you. I would love to fall into something like that. The Growler relay always looks fun. Great idea to do it on bike! Will keep that in mind for future events. Thanks for linking
I agree, there is good in every day, even if it’s not always obvious. That’s what gets me through each day LOL
Now that beer relay sounds like something I could get on board with 😉
It’s great that Zooma has worked out so well for you. Hope to see you at one of the races next year!
I am all about a beer relay!
2020 has been weird. I can’t rule it out as a bad year, but it’s been a humbling year – I’ve spent most of it coping with injury, which has taught me a lot about patience and relying on others.
I didn’t realize that Ragnar was doing virtual events, very cool! Definitely a way to stay motivated.
Congrats, ZOOMA looks to be doing really well! I was an ambassador a few years ago and occasionally participate in some of their challenges. You’re so right about taking the leap of faith!
I don’t even drink coffee and I kinda wanted to mainline it for the first couple days of this month, haha. I’m with you on trying to look for the good in every day though — given how this year has gone, it’s so necessary!
