I had an AMAZING run on Saturday morning. It wasn’t super fast, but I felt strong for the entire 5 miles and my last mile was faster than my first mile. Other than a total wipeout when I stepped on a hidden rock, my body felt good. In fact, it was the first time in a long time where I had unexpected free time and I CHOSE to go out and run!
So, while hanging out with my runner’s high, I decided I needed a mileage goal and so do YOU. Join me!
Details:
- Choose the number of miles you plan to run this month (whatever number seems right for YOU.) I chose 100.
- Run your miles, at whatever speed and whatever combination of distances. (One crazy participant is running a 50 mile race! I won’t be doing that LOL)
- Be entered into a random drawing for prizes. Prizes won’t be huge – I think I have some socks, nuun, Gu, etc. I’ll see what I can get my hands on.
- Be proud of your accomplishment!
Spreadsheet is here. If you aren’t there, feel free to add yourself and your info. Also, feel free to add your twitter or blog information if I’ve already listed you. If you have issues, email me at mcmmamaruns at gmail.com and I’ll add you.
In other news, I’m co-hosting a giveaway blog hop.
I’m giving away a Scott James necklace to thank you all for being my faithful followers.
I love Scott James. They gave me a lovely necklace after ZOOMA Annapolis last year and I wear it all.the.time.
In fact, I like it so much that I bought myself a few new trinkets after Ragnar this year…
Of course, I also bought the Washington dangle and will buy Cape Cod as soon as I run that as well. Yeah, it’s an addiction…

I usually use GU in races, and I know this may sound weird, but I wish they had some flavors that weren’t so sweet. For training runs, I often use peanut butter M&Ms.
I love using Huma Chia gels! They taste delicious and have gotten me through several marathons.
I love my Honey Stingers, but I’m about to try Tail wind…I’ve heard great things and would love to be able to eliminate the gels!

I usually fuel with Nuun while on the course. Right before a long race, I eat a package of peanut butter crackers — kinda weird, but it’s tradition

I like to use Gu or Gatorade energy chews.
Right now I don’t run long enough to need fuel. If I did, it would probably be Clif Shot Bloks as I’ve used these on bike rides.
I love the Scott James jewelry! As far as fueling, I really liked raisins but I think I need a little extra for longer runs and I’ve been experimenting with different options. So far, I like the Clif Shot Blocks the best.

Sorry if this is a double post, but right now I have tie between honey stinger waffles and sport beans as my favorite fuel.

Kind bars
My favorite type of fuel when running changes from run to run. Sometimes I like gels and other times (on longer runs) I like gummy/jelly bean energy chews (or sometimes normal gummies/jelly beans) because it gives me something to look forward to (:
Fun challenge! I’ll be taking it easy for November! Thanks for the giveaway Erika!

I like sports beans and gu. Couldn’t run without em
I like trail mix! It really keeps my energy up.
I only use Gu. I found they work with my stomach and cause me no problems, so why mess with success 🙂
This is a wonderful blog hop and I’m meeting so many new people, and seeing new blogs. How interesting and so much fun.

By far it’s Nuun! The Cherry Limeade is my favorite. Thanks for co-hosting on this giveaway.
I like to have a banana with Almond Butter before I run. I don’t usually fuel during my runs.
Ya know what? I’m not a “runner” but I love running. I’ll go out for an hour and only get in 4-5 miles. I’m super slow and totally a newbie. So… I don’t have an answer to my fav. fueling option – but I will some day 🙂

I like the sports beans.
Shark bites
I don’t use much of anything to fuel my runs, but when I finish I enjoy things with higher protein, like cottage cheese or peanut butter:)

Still refining, but I currently use a couple of Sport Beans every mile with water. Loving these necklaces!
My favorite fueling option while running….well, I’m not doing a lot of running currently. Lots of hiking/walking/sprints and gradually building the running back up. With this, my current fueling is coconut oil/coconut butter/almond butter/butter/sometimes MCT oil/BCAAs.
I use Nuun with water and fuel with Salted Caramel Gu or probar bites!

I don’t usually run long enough to need fuel, but I’ll probably start with Gu pretty soon.
Nuun, H20, Hammer or GU! Also “treat” myself to Honey Stinger Chews for the longest runs….
Cliff bars are my favorite!
