Onzie yoga clothing review

June 5, 2014 by MCM Mama 7 Comments

I know, you are thinking, “she’s a runner, why yoga clothing?”  In fact, that was my first response and I nearly turned them down.  Until I took a close look at their website.

Created by a young Bikram Yogi and manufactured in the US, Onzie offers yoga, lifestyle wear, and (dare I say it?) running clothes that spice up your wardrobe.  With a motto of “keep your practice challenging, and your wardrobe simple”, the clothing offers simple, but interesting designs, with a lot of awesome patterns.

I chose one item (because I REALLY REALLY wanted it) and asked them to surprise me with the other items.  I was not disappointed!

The one item that I really wanted was their cardigan. I could totally picture wearing that with several skirts I own.  I was right.  I asked for it in grey and I’m totally in love with it.  In fact, I wore it when we went out to dinner the night before ZOOMA Annapolis. It’s soft and flowy and just the right weight to add a little warmth when the air conditioner is working overtime.  I’m sure it would work great as a coverup after working out, but no, mine will not be getting sweaty.  (And now they offer it in mint and I WANT it.)

I was sent two other items, without knowing what they would be.  What can I say? I like surprises.

I was sent the criss cross bra.  My first thought was, “um, no.”  It doesn’t look like it offers a lot  of coverage or support.  I was right about the coverage, so you will not be seeing a picture of me in it.  (It’s not too risque, just shows a bit more than I’m comfortable with on the internet.)  I was totally wrong about support.  I figured it would work for weight lifting, but on a whim I went for a run in it.  The girls stayed where they belong!  And it’s super comfortable.  I would never wear it without a shirt, but I don’t run that way often anyways, so it’s all good!

Finally,  I was sent a pair of capri pants.  Let’s just say I’m not going to get lost in the crowd in these.  They are not designed for running, so they don’t have a pocket anywhere.  That’s really the only negative I can think of!  I love the wide waistband and the maerial feels silky. They are super comfy and stayed put when I was running (something I worry about when there is no drawstring).

Would I buy their clothes?  Yes!  Their prices are similar to stores like Athleta and the quality is high.  Even better, their clothes are made in the US. All good things!

Now to convince Beer Geek that I really do need two cardigans.  (This totally doesn’t fit into the “I can’t buy any more running clothes category”, right???)

Last day to enter my Bondi Band giveaway!!!

Disclaimer: Onzie gave me the clothes for free.  All opinions are my own.

I love my yoga clothes for running! I don’t do yoga, I do barre, but I try to pick pieces that I can wear for both. Cute outfit!!

The cardigan’s really nice. Beer Geek needs to know that it’s imperative that you get that second one.
