I couldn’t come up with any really exciting topic for #400, so Mother Nature took care of it for me. Yes, all my East Coast peeps, I am to blame for the 16 inches of snow (and counting) LOL
Yesterday morning, Beer Geek and the boys pounded some 28″ stakes into the ground along the edge of our walkway so that we would be able to shovel it. I made fun of him. Obviously, we’d be able to find the walkway.
I took a picture last night before we headed to bed. OK, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
This is what it looked like when we woke up and the snow is still coming down. We’ve now shoveled it down to the path several times and it is again covered.
The road that goes through the middle of the picture is a snow emergency route. That’s the worst it’s gotten so far between plowings, but I absolutely would not want to be trying to get somewhere today.

I’ve shoveled for two hours so far today and am planning to head out again soon. Rumor has it we’ll be getting more snow on Tuesday and then some next weekend as well. I see a lot of treadmill running in my future. (I actually ran yesterday, which was a rest day, so that I could get one more outside run done.)

Giveaway planning in the works. It will definitely include some of my two favorite running products (Gu and nuun) and maybe some of my favorite socks or something. This all hinges on me someday being able to leave my house…
Crazy pictures! I have been stuck on the treadmill too! Hoping to get outside tomorrow. Can't wait for the giveaway! Happy #400!
that's a lot of snow!
we are actually behind in our snow totals this year in central NY, I have yet to use my new Yaktrax!
That's the kind of snow that I find beautiful! But, it doesn't take long for you to get sick of it! happy 400th post!
The stakes were an excellent idea. Turning into my street this morning I eventually realized that I was driving on the sidewalk & not the road, the snow was piled so high!Times like this I wish I had a treadmill 🙂
Shoveling IS a workout! Luckily my wonderful neighbor removed the tree and shoveled our entire walkway! LOVE IT. I can't wait for the roads to be runnable again!
uugghh, so sorry. Kudos to Beer Geek tho, he had a good idea with the stakes. i've never seen anyone do that before, good idea. wow, you guys are really getting hit hard this year. i hope it melts fast for you. be careful if you do go out and run!! Hope the boys have fun playing in it!
I guess you could say it's pretty if you didn't have to deal with it. Hang in there!
WOW!! I sort of miss the snow!
We were visiting Michigan in the summer time and noticed all these stakes along the road. Didn't know what they were for until we asked. They were for the snow plows.
This is the time of year I am glad I live in Florida.Shaveling snow is a major work out.
hilarious. i never would have thought to stake out the drive!
Oh yeah, that's beer weather!
We got it too! That much snow makes for nice pictures. Bad running.
Just imagine the upper body strength you're developing! Happy 400th, I hope you can be somewhere warm and sunny for post 500.
We need snow in Vermont. This is soooo crazy!
Ah, that is Yaktrax running heaven!!!! It's been so dry in CO this month, I am actually wishing for a good 2-3 foot snow. Stay warm and dry!
Oh, my that's a lot of snow. And that's so smart to put guides beside where to shovel. Hope you're not too sore tomorrow.
happy 400!! That's a lot of snow – clever Beer Geek for staking out the path (LOL) Love it.
Yikes! We managed to dodge it this weekend, but I feel for you! Amazing how much can change overnight.Happy 400th!
Hahaha- my aunt called it snowmageddon too!!! It was a doozy, that is for sure!
As crazy as it sounds, it would be nice to get some of that snow here in Wisconsin. All these storms keep bypassing us and hitting you guys. But that's a lot of snow that fell. I like the pics!
Yikes – that's a lot of snow. Hopefully it will melt fast so you can get back outside.
