Quick Giveaway: Baltimore Running Festival

August 27, 2014 by MCM Mama 24 Comments

Earlier this year, in my quest to do the 13 half marathons in 79 days as cheaply as possible, I entered a contest.  I won half off of my Frederick Running Festival entry and a free entry into the Baltimore Running Festival.

Despite my best intentions, I just can’t run the race, so I’ve gotten permission to give the entry away.  Lucky you!

I want to run this race because I need it for my NYC Marathon training! And I don’t get to see my friend Andrea (who is also running NYC) nearly enough since we live so far apart!

Baltimore Running Festival is a great race. I did the 4th leg of the marathon last year and since I’m training for NYC this race falls perfect on the schedule! That Crabby medal is awesome too! I hope my friend Christina loves it here when she comes in town for the race!

I ran this one last year and loved it!! Maryland holds a special place in my heart. My husband’s grandparents lived up there and last October we got to visit with them because of the race. Unfortunately, what we didn’t know, it was our last time seeing them. We lost both of them within 6 weeks of each other last Novemeber. If it wasn’t for this race, we would have never been up there diring that time of year. One of those ways where running and life overlap. So winning would be bittersweet for sure!

I want to run this race because I quit smoking after twenty years and subsequently added 30lbs to my frame. I need to prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to!!!!!!

Growing up in Baltimore County, we spent a lot of time in the city. Now living in PA, we don’t get back there as often as I’d like. Being able to run my first half marathon there would be icing on the cake!

Since getting kicked off my Army Ten miler team for losing all my speed this summer (oops, guess I shouldn’t have gotten pregnant!) I have been looking for another goal race for the Fall. This would be a perfect consolation race!

I wan to run this race, as my best friend in NJ ran it last year and raved about it. It would be my first exposure to Baltimore ever – and it looks like an amazing race!

I’ve heard so many great things about this race! It would be an incredible experience to run the streets of Baltimore and complete this race as my 4th half marathon.
