Race all the miles. Travel all the places.

This fall is looking a little crazy. In fact, I may have bitten off more than I can chew – especially considering I’m still babying my ankle a bit. But today on Tuesdays on the Run we are talking fall plans, so I’m going to put it all down “on paper” for the first time. I’m actually kind of scared right about what it’s going to look like. Admittedly, some of the races I won’t actually be running…

September 15 – ZOOMA Great Lakes – my race season kicks off with me not actually running. I’ll need to sneak in a few miles though, so hopefully I can enjoy some of the beautiful course after the runners are done.

September 22 – Clarendon Day 5K + 10K – I love this local race. If you do the “Clarendon Day Double”, you run a 5K down a wicked hill, run back up the hill, and then run a 10K that includes the downhill plus 3 more miles. I also plan to run some before and after to get in a long run for MCM.

September 29 – ZOOMA Cape Cod – I have my fingers crossed that I can run the 10K. If not, I’ll hit the course either before or after the runners to get in some of my own training.

Then I have 2 weekends “off”. Hopefully I can get in some quality MCM training before it’s taper time.

October 22 – ZOOMA Florida – Like the other ZOOMA races, I will either race or run the course on my own. We’ll see…

October 28 – Marine Corps Marathon – This is all about the atmosphere and will be a training run/walk for my upcoming ultra. Oh, and that little thing called Runners Club. And then I might take a break from this race and either volunteer on the Blue Mile or with the MRTT group in Crystal City.

November 3 – Growler Relay from Old Ox Brewing to Mad Fox Brewing and back – I don’t know if I’m running or working this one yet.

November 17 – Race to be determined – If the stars align, I’ll knock off my Georgia half marathon this weekend.

December 8 – Rehoboth Seashore Half Marathon – If training were truly my goal, I’d run the full here, but I gotta be honest – it’s all about hanging out with Beer Geek and good beer. So, the half it is.

December 28 or 29 – Across the Years 24 hour race – Yep, I’m going to make my first stab at an ultra with a timed race. Will I run all 24 hours? I guess we’ll see what happens with my training and my ankle this fall.

Add in Beer Geek traveling a few times for work, including a trip to Germany, and I’m pretty sure we are all going to be exhausted come January. Pretty sure my goals for 2019 will not include this kind of crazy. Or maybe it will.

How is your fall looking? Do you have an “A” race or are you all about racing all the race?

The 24-hour race sounds awesome! Good luck!!! I love timed races, and if my hip would cooperate, I would think about this one. I love the relaxed pace and the great food. I think you will have a great time. I am starting to get very worried about MCM. I have been doing PT for my hip, and it is actually getting worse! Ugh! Not sure if I will actually be able to do the race.

Wow! Your race calendar is full. I’m running ZOOMA, of course. I’m also planning on running the Madison half marathon in November. And if I’m really feeling well, I’ll do my local half marathon Turkey Trot 2 weeks after that.

Ooh Cape Cod. If that’s an annual I need to look into it next year. One of my favorite places.

    Great races.

I was hoping to do Zooma Cape Cod but it didn’t fit this year and Florida as well.

I want to meet you IRL.

    Maybe 2019 is our year.

Wow, a very busy fall! I’m going to take some time off after my next race to enjoy the fall weather and Halloween atmosphere. I’m sure I’ll get out for runs when the weather is perfect.

I came close to picking Rehoboth Beach as my add on half. 🙂 But I knew Mr. Judy would balk at the iffy weather and longer drive in Dec (even if it would have given me a bit more of a break) and that NJ wasn’t a hard sell. After that I have the Cape Cod Half end of October, then you can stick a fork in me.

Oh, there’ll be some shorter races here & there, and maybe a 15k in Nov. But those are my next two halfs.

Holy Cow, you’ve got some serious mileage coming up! Just think of all the memories, the bibs, the bling, and potential blisters (ha! #kidding). I’m excited to hear all about these races!!

You are definitely keeping busy – I hope you have a blast at the ZOOMA events, it was so pretty in Cape Cod when I ran it a couple of years ago!

Rehoboth has been on my bucket list for ages…I need to try to pencil it in for 2019!
