As I’ve mentioned before, I live in the land of the big Expo. With races like Marine Corps Marathon, Army 10 Miler, and RNR DC, there are plenty of opportunities to head to big expos and find things I never thought I needed. Since today’s topic for Tuesdays on the Run is best race expo finds, I’ll share those thing that I “needed” that actually turned out to be awesome.
I don’t generally buy any specific thing (I don’t collect race pint glasses, which I’m sure surprises many of you) and most of my favorite brands are not at many expos. But I’ve gotten lucky a few times…
Once, at the ATM expo, I met Jill from Lift Your Sole and gave her my info. This arrived in my mailbox one day…
Another time, I happened upon a cute t-shirt vendor and this shirt came home with me. I love to wear it when I race in distant locations (although everyone seems to think it’s Kentucky, ummm.)…
I did buy one pint glass and hat on a whim…
And a cool pair of sunglasses…
But that’s pretty much it, other than the occasional replacement Glide stick or Gu when I’ve forgotten something.
What about you? Anything you’ve purchased at an expo that you wouldn’t have bought otherwise? RNR DC is coming up soon, tell me what I should look for!

Love that necklace! What a lovely surprise.
I laugh at myself how overly excited I am for the expo this Saturday. Austin 3M 🙂

I’m not a big shopper, so when I go to expos I don’t often buy things unless I happen to forget something or need some Gu.

I am surprised you don’t collect pint glasses, LOL!
I haven’t done a half with a big expo in a long, long time. Maybe this year (and maybe not).

I love your MCM Mama necklace! My husband once bought me a pair of sunglasses at a race expo cus he insisted I would need them for race day. I don’t think I ended up wearing them…lol
That personalized necklace is adorable! Jill does some lovely work 🙂 I have started checking out the sunglasses displays at expos – almost ready to take the plunge! I’m just so picky and the day before a big race I’m not usually thinking clearly enough to make any “big” decisions so I always bail. I need to attend an expo for a race I’m NOT running .. if only I lived closer to you!

That necklace is adorable! I’ve never bought anything big at an expo and I’m like you, a lot of the brands I like aren’t at expos. I do love Running Skirts, but I always seem to be at expos before Christmas or my birthday, which means I can’t buy RS either because I always seem to have one of their designs on my gift list.

I love that Kentucky shirt! Sorry, couldn’t resist 😉 I usually don’t spend a lot of time at the expo but I’ll get a race shirt or jacket if I decide to get something. My favorite race expo item is a pink hoodie I got at the NYC Marathon. I wear every chance I get!

I’ve been tempted to buy a shirt like that with Nebraska, but all of our states out here are rectangles so they’re less than exciting on the shirt. 🙂

I love that necklace! My best expo find was actually a skirt I won from skirt sports! It’s my fav now!
I am an Expo addict. I have been known to go to Expos even if I am not running the race. I love the energy of expos!

I hardly ever not get something unless you count when I almost didn’t get there in time to get my race number. #epicfail. I always stock up on gu idk why the deals I guess. Once I lucked up on 2 full size containers of PB2 for $5 that was a steal. I love Expos seeing all the new things too. Thanks for the link up!!
I love that Lift Your Sole charm! I’m always on the lookout for something unusual or a memento. I can buy the regular clothes and shoes at home.

I’m loving the jewelery that people find at expos. Almost makes me wish I did bigger races.
