Yesterday, Beer Geek called me from work to let me know he’d be late getting home. I nearly cried because I had a four mile run on my mental schedule and there was no way I could get it in during the day. I did a mental shuffle of my running plans for the week and moved on. When he got home, he told me to disappear until time to put the kids to bed. Woohoo! Gotta love a man who works late and then immediately takes over kid duty. I headed to the basement with the laptop and ordered our Christmas cards. Suddenly it occurred to me – I have forty free minutes and a treadmill. Duh! I ended up knocking out 4.1 miles in just under 36 minutes.
Relay training?
Today, I wanted to run 8+ miles, but Shoo’s school was having their Sharing Feast and I really needed to hit the wine shop beforehand. So, I dropped off the boys and figured I’d run as far as I could manage in an hour and call it good. Well, I was moving really slowly today, probably because it had been only about 14 hours since my last run. Midway through my rainy, slow run, Beer Geek called and said he’d be home on time. Again with the cheering! So, I bailed after 4.3 miles that took me 45 minutes to run.
This evening, I headed out again. I knocked out a fast first mile, stopped at the local running store to pick up my Turkey Trot race packet, and then ran three more slow miles. Surprisingly, the evening run felt much better than the morning run.
So, three 4 mile runs in a twenty four hour period! And all because I’ve got mileage goals for the year and because of HBBC!

great job on the runs and the HBBC! I'm with ya, not sure i'll ever get that extra point for the fruits/veggies. LOL
You are kicking my bootie on the HBBC! ๐ Great job on getting in those runs!I'm wondering… when you mentioned the Share Feast, you also mentioned stopping by the wine shop. Are you planning on sending a bottle of wine in with Shoo for his class party? If that's the case, I want to be YOUR kids' teacher!! ;D
Way to go Beer Geek on taking over parent duty! I love that! Also, great job on the runs and your HBBC points. All I can say is WOW!
Look at you, racking up the points! Nice work on the runs.
Nice job with all the runs!
that is so awesome! I really like it when I get two runs in a day, even if one is short – I just find it energizing. Props to Beer Geek for coming through for you! Sounds like a good man ๐
Nice job fitting it all in!
You are definitely ready for a relay with those runs!
That's great you got those 4 miles in- on a treadmill nonetheless! Have a great thanksgiving weekend!
just stopping to say hello. sounds like you experience some of the same things I do … I plan a run in my head and then life happens. Sick baby, late hubby, or a sleepless night forcing me to turn of the alarm ๐ We always work through it though!!!
Nice job racking up the HBBC points! Keep it up!
