Or more accurately, flying from the cold.
Tomorrow morning, we head to TX to celebrate Beer Geek’s grandmother’s 100th birthday. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather, seeing family, and getting away from the chaos that will be Inauguration weekend. And man, what a huge milestone 100 years is!
I did another treadmill run tonight. So, I’m a wimp about the cold. Apparently I’ve spent too much of my life in warmer climate and my Wisconsin blood has thinned. It was a great run, though. I did 4 miles in 34:04!
tfh made an interesting comment yesterday about not wanting to ask what I did because it might be too personal. I found that entertaining, because anyone who knows me IRL knows I’m pretty open and will talk about just about anything. In regards to this blog, I won’t give out any identifying details, mostly because I have kids. I also won’t talk about anything that would embarrass Beer Geek (I’m not sure there’s anything about me that I wouldn’t share, but I know some of our friends read this blog on occasion). Other than that, I’m an open book. I’ll be happy to talk about the Beer part of Beer Geek’s name (he used to brew beer and now “collects” brewpubs to name just a couple of things), the Geek part (he also “collects” weird geographic stuff like “Point of Beginning” in Wisconsin), Shoo’s homebirth (an awesome experience), librarianship (I really enjoyed my career), religion (Lutheran), politics (liberal, mostly Democrat)…
I talk mostly about running, because, well, that’s why I started the blog. I’ve found more and more of my “life” slipping in, so feel free to ask questions. :o)
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend! Stay warm northern people! I may get a chance to post from TX, but if not, “see” you after the Inauguration!
Have fun in TX!! Hope you get the chance to do some running. ๐
Have fun in Texas! A break from the cold is nice. Happy 100th to Beer Geek’s Grammy. Is Willard Scott going to do a Smuckers shout out on the Today Show?
Have fun in TX! 100 is an amazing milestone.
Hopefully you actually get warm weather in Houston this weekend! It’s been chilly there as well, and I think the Houston Marathon is gonna have one of its coldest years ever!
Okay, here’s a personal question for you:Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party, Ms. Liberal Democrat? And a follow-up: Are you aware that the ALA is a Communist Front Group? And that “beer” is a commie code word for “dictatorship of the proletariat”? Did you also know that tfh is part of the Communist Plot to turn people gay? (O, don’t you worry! I accused her of this already on her own blog, so she knows I know!)Plus, The Lutheran Church is a Communist front organization – did you know that?Plus, running on a treadmill is elitist. Why is a Communist like you engaged in such a bourgeois activity? Are you a high-level apparatchik with access to privileges denied to the masses?Plus, Texas is a Communist Front State – did you know that?I await your answers …Happy 100th to Beer Geek’s Communist Grandma!
Wow, 100 year is definitely a reason to celebrate! Safe travels, and enjoy the warmer weather!
Great 4 miler! Enjoy your escape from coldness, I am jealous!
Hey didn’t know you were Lutheran – me too! ๐ Yet another thing in common! Have fun in Texas, enjoy the warmth, and Happy Birthday Gram!
Enjoy TX! I will continue to chip away the frozen snot from my face in our 30 below weather…..
The cold definitely hit me at a time that I’m so not ready. I don’t have any long tights! I need them, but just can’t find ones that are short enough for me. I’m 5’2. And then the issue of warm gear…my goodness! Stay warm!
Have a fun, warm trip!
Ooh, have fun on your trip. 100 years! Wow!
Have fun in Texas. And please enjoy the warmth for me. ๐
Hope you had a great trip in TX & safe travels in DC in all the madness there.
