Thank goodness today is a rest day! I don’t think I could run today if someone was chasing me. I might be able to run if my child’s life was in danger, but I’m not even sure of that. I’m worn out, physically and mentally. The physical is obvious – I’ve been a shoveling fool and the snow is HEAVY! My quads and shoulders are screaming! (Guess I’m doing something right though – my back doesn’t hurt at all.) I ran 7.1 miles yesterday at a 10:07 pace. I actually ran faster than that as I didn’t stop Garmin every time I had to step aside for a car or stop to walk over ice. The entire time, my legs felt like bricks. I also hit 32.5 miles for the week. I’ve only gone over 30 miles in a week four times before in my life! So, yeah, I guess my body has a right to be tired.
Running: I’m not so into you
But, dude, look at those guns!
Mentally, I’m not sure what my issue is. I’m sure having to choose between the treadmill or doing circles in my neighborhood is part of it. Not having my kid-free time to do as I please is part of it. Wondering which run will be the one where I fall on my rear or twist my ankle may play a part in it. Eh, who knows. All I know is that I am super thankful for a rest today and a fall back week for this week. Having 10 miles as my long run for the week makes me happy.
Life is still bizarre here. I’m so ready to get back into normal patterns. I had to go to my “last resort” grocery store again today. I managed to get most of what I needed, but this store carries very little in the way of organic produce and doesn’t have a bakery, so I had to make some compromises. Oh, well, it was worth not having to deal with the parking lots at the popular stores around here. I must have been hungry when I was there though as I had the weirdest urge to buy marshmallows (did) and beef jerky (didn’t and WTF? I can’t remember the last time I had jerky). No, I am not pregnant OR PMSing. Bizarre.
On a different note, I got a message on Facebook from Sean Potts today (gotta love a marathon that’s small enough that the race director friends you on FB LOL). They are trying to get a racer from every state. We all know that Arizona has RunningLaur, but wouldn’t you like to represent your state? If any of my readers want to join us, I’d love to meet you and heck, I’ll even bring you a beer! Check out the Bob Potts Marathon website if you are interested.

Love those guns!We already have a 2 hour delay for tomorrow… I just want them to go back to school.
I'll bet if I made off with a six of your beer you would run!Of course, out of respect, I would not do that. I'd simply wait for you to offer meone!
Sweet guns girl! Wahoo!
ok, THAT is hilarious! I've never had a race director friend me on FB (lol)! Awesome.
Yay for rest days! Always good to mentally/physically recharge…and it feels so great when you get back to that "lovin' it" place.
i think you deserve the rest day. and that is puzzling that you wanted beef jerky…i think we have all had those weird moments at the grocery store.
Love the picture! Congrats on the 32.5 miles!! I'll let you know what race I plan on for the fanatic thing. And check out my blog … I left you something!
Those are some big guns, gurl! It looks like you've been swimming your heart out.Weather is totally sucktacular here too. Not as bad as yours, for sure, but I'm OVER it.
Guns look awesome! I'm with you on the running blahs. I was thinking yesterday (as I ran 20 miles in a 3 mile radius) that I really really am tired of running on the same neighborhood streets!
That is so funny about the race director friending you on FB! You are a sought after racer!
We got home from vacation and missed a big snow. Our neighbors shoveled our sidewalk and my BIL shoveled our front steps. It was awesome.
Great guns. You gonna name 'em? 🙂
Lookin' good mama! :)…you are a machine, you totally deserve some down time.
Look at those GUNS! DAYUM!!Marshmallows and Beef Jerky huh? You sure you shouldn't go pee on a stick? 😉
Damn, those are some buff arms! All that shoveling has been good for something.
Look at those arms! Jealous! Enjoy the rest day, I think you deserve it!
I want arms like that! You are doing great and I hope life becomes "normal" this week.

Congrats on the mileage and the arm muscles!
Those are some hardcore arm muscles! I love the small race features of Bob Potts, it's so opposite of MCM!
Nice pipes! No wonder you are feeling beat up. Congrats on all the miles!

Great bloggity blog!!! Just stumbled on ya. I so hit my running wall today, so I HAD to bust out tunes on the treadmill at the gym, looked like a freak but squeezed in 4 miles. We ran a 3 mile loop 3.5 times on Sunday for our long run,so I know what you're talking about – boring.
Hey – Check my post today for a little Sunshine!
30+ miles for the week! Nicely done. Go on & enjoy the rest day!And I'll remember not to mess with you & your guns. Ever.
