That seems to be the story of my life lately. I’m desperately trying to catch up on everything that fell through the cracks this fall. In the last week, I’ve had a mammogram and a skin check (both came out fine), as well as figured out our health insurance for 2020 and sent in all of our FSA receipts. Up next are new tires for one car and an inspection for the other. Oh, and I’m working 3 part time jobs still…

But it’s time to jump in the runfessional thanks to Marcia.
I must runfess that I’m struggling with my injury from the 50K training. I’m still tender where my hamstring attaches (aka my butt is sore). I can run slow miles, but I haven’t managed more than 3 miles at a time since the 50K. I’m focusing instead on weight lifting and foam rolling.

I must also runfess that I think I may DNF a half marathon for the first time ever. I may even DNS it. I haven’t decided. Conveniently, if I do run, the course loops back near the finish at mile 5. I think I might just have a nice slow 5 mile run/walk and then meet Beer Geek at the finish. As fast as he is, I won’t be waiting long. (Look at me pretending to make smart choices, but really it’s that I don’t want to be out there for 3+ hours when I could be drinking beer with my husband. #priorities)

I was so proud of myself for buying nothing on Black Friday. In fact, I did not even turn on my computer that day. But Cyber Monday? Oy, I must runfess that my credit card is so sad that I have the numbers memorized. In my defense, with one exception, everything I bought was stuff I buy regularly that just had a great deal on it. Of course, the exception was Skirt Sports… (If you race over there, you might still be able to use GRATEFUL for 25% off and free shipping over $30.)
Wednesday I get to head down to The Running Event where ZOOMA will receive several awards from Bibrave. I’m really excited to go down, but it will involve a 3am mile on the treadmill since my flight leaves at 6:15am. I runfess that I’m not really excited by that, but if I don’t do it then, I might not get another chance. (Let’s not talk about whether I should be doing the Runner’s World Run Streak, mmkay?)

After running my half marathon over the weekend, I’m looking forward to some lower miles! No streaking for me. Congrats to ZOOMA on winning awards. It’s impressive how you guys have grown the brand!
OUCH!!!!! I hope your injury feels better soon!
The key to ending the high hamstring saga for me was having my pelvis adjusted by my Chiro. I’ll bet yours needs time to heal too.
I gathered up my Halloween/fall stuff and stored some/most of it but Christmas has not yet been unpacked. If I don’t get to it soon, it may not happen…
