Scenes from my so-called winter running

February 7, 2017 by MCM Mama 11 Comments

It’s February. It’s the deepest darkest coldest part of winter. Or not. This year, Virginia has been a little confused. Honestly, I think she’s having hot flashes. I mean, we’ve had a few cold days, but we’ve had just as many warm days. In fact, I’ve worn my Skirt Sports Lotta Breeze Capri (affiliate link) more this year than any other year since I bought my first pair.

My winter should look like this at least occasionally…

snow day

But this is the closest we’ve gotten this year…

winter

Beautiful? Yes. But not even our wimpy school system called a delay for this one.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t need 23 inches like we received in one weekend last year. In fact, I still have a bit of PTSD about that. But I would like one real snow this winter.

Instead, my runs are looking more like this…

grey-winter

Which is to say – my runs have been really boring. So, share your pictures for Tuesdays on the Run, because I’m dreaming of something more exciting than our dreary weather.

If snow = excitement, I have nothing great to share either. Dead grass is incredibly boring. I could definitely use a good dump of snow.

It’s just not really winter without a good snow at least once is it?

I have not really have a good winter run yet this year! We have had some warm weather where I was even able to wear shorts for a little while! And the other times, I stayed inside.

This winter has been so lackluster when it comes to snow! I’m glad I had one good snowy run but I ran in shorts on my run last night! It could definitely be a lot worse!

Well, a lot of my runs have happened on the dreadful ‘mill…so not scenic! We finally had some decent weather this past weekend…though I know that won’t last very long in Iowa.

23 inches in one weekend ..in Virginia?? Yeah, that would cause me to have severe PTSD as well! I didn’t even share my winter running pics because for the most part, it doesn’t look much different here in Mississippi than it does any other time of the year …other than the trees are naked. 🙂 It’s been in the 70s for a couple of weeks now ..heck, I was out in the kayak last week!

Hope you get your snow soon so you can feel like you’ve had at least one week of typical Virginia winter!

I had a long long training walk planned and I think Id have preferred record cold 🙂

Coffee with a side of rain

Apparently I only write coffee posts when I’m in Michigan. I guess my body is hard wired to wake up early, but the college kid has no interest in an early wakeup call. I’d run, but it’s raining and I did not bring the right running clothes, so here I sit. I’m joining Deb and […]
