Now this is snow I can handle. It’s gorgeous, but as you can see in the middle picture, the roads are already down to pavement. THIS is typical Virginia snow. Of course, this is still Virginia, so the kids have no school today. Whatever. I decided last night that if they didn’t have school or started late, I’d just move my 13 miles to Thursday. It’s supposed to be above freezing all day today and tomorrow, so I should be able to run on the neighborhood roads pretty easily (as long at that UPS guy doesn’t run me down.) Instead, I’ll spend today “cross training” by shoveling snow, building snowmen, and throwing snowballs.
Edited to Add: I have a coupon code for the SunTrust National Marathon and Half Marathon for $10 off if you register before February 10th. Email me at mom2shoo at gmail.com if you’d like it.
You are thinking about this all wrong. Today would have been a perfect day for a 13 miler. Drop your kids off with water and gu at certain points – boom, built in water stops!
Looks like the view out my windows. Can't wait until Ben is old enough to be a snowday playmate! I threw a snowball at him on Monday but it felt a little unfair. At least I was gentle.
Love love the pictures. It looks just like the view from my window. Oh and I agree with Jamoosh about dropping the kiddos off and have them be your aid stations.
Our high today is suppossed to be 60. No snowday for us. Although it will be snowing 2 hours north in the mountains. Have a fun day today.
That is absolutely gorgeous! What was the temp? Was there wind? If it were above 20 degrees with no wind and not very icy, I would be taking full advantage of that scenery up here in NoDak! LOL
Beautiful! Even though it looks so nice, it can be hard to run in if the streets are slushy or sidewalks are still covered!
I love those pics! Beautiful.
I find it so funny that the kids are off school because of that amount of snow.Enjoy the day and mild temps for your long run tomorrow!
Usually I would think that is pretty, but I'm just so over winter – yuck! Hope you have a good cross training day home with the kids.
I love it when the snow clings to every last tiny surface. It's so pretty for a few hours until it starts melting/falling off.
that is beautiful – sounds like a great way to spend the day ๐
hahaha there are few cross training methods that sound better than building snowmen and throwing snowballs ๐ Maybe add some sledding in there and it's perfect!
So pretty!
Lovely pics!
Beautiful pics. Hope you enjoyed your day with your kids.
Love the pics! Still trying to wrap my head around the fact that your kids got a snow day out that snowfall. ๐
Wow! That looks peaceful!Good luck on the 13!
Gorgeous, right?! But it is making long runs REALLY hard! Where do you do your 13 miles??
Great pics! Sounds like you have flexibility built in to your schedule, which all but guarantees the run gets done.Looking forward to following your blog, by the way!
Those are absolutely beautiful pictures. Hope it doesn't get too bad for you this weekend.
