So, I ran 20 miles on Friday and haven’t run since. Sigh. Life just keeps getting in the way of my running.
Saturday was awesome! We had close to 100 people (I think 44 of them were kids LOL), good beer, pork BBQ, a bounce house, and beautiful weather (although a bit warmer than I would have liked). I think I was on my feet the entire day though and I woke up Sunday with uncomfortably swollen feet.
I also woke up Sunday to a sick Jones. Lovely. He had a sore throat and a fever and he’s a crabby sick kid, so it was very long day. I was supposed to run 5 miles, but Jones was a bit clingy and it was 93!!! degrees out, so I bagged it.
Today involved a trip to the doctor where it was confirmed that Jones did indeed have strep. Beer Geek also made a stop by the local urgent care to confirm that he did not, in fact, have strep. (Thank goodness for small favors.) Shoo and I tend not to catch it when Jones brings it home, so hopefully all will be feeling well tomorrow. I was so exhausted from Jones not sleeping/crying out in his sleep, that I was pretty useless today. As one might expect, running was out of the question.
Both boys will be in school tomorrow, so I’m planning an 8 mile run. Then I have to finish an article about our elementary school for the neighborhood association newsletter, send off a resume and letter for a part-time telecommuting gig, pick up the van for our trip to Charleston, and also pack for the trip and wedding. Yes, our party did indeed kick off the “fall crazies” as I will not stop moving between now and the end of October. Still trying to figure out why I thought a fall marathon was a good idea…
