How is it the end of April? I’m pretty sure that this month was only 3 days long. Or at least only 3 days of spring weather. Something like that.
I must runfess that running events have taken over my life this month. Every weekend I’ve either run a race or volunteered at one. This coming weekend I’m volunteering at two events and running a half marathon. I’m still not quite sure how that happened.
But if I’m truly going to come clean, I’d also runfess that I’ve run very few miles outside of the half marathons I’ve been running. Lots of very short warm up and cool down runs for weight lifting and not a whole lot else. I currently have 4 days to run 25 miles. Guess it’s a good thing I’m running a half on Sunday. If you need me Monday, I’ll be running.
I must also runfess that I am nowhere near ready to run 33 miles in about 33 hours (although, put that way it sounds manageable LOL), so I need to get serious. Soon. Maybe next week. Am I crazy to consider running 6 times in two days as training?
And then I have a food runfession. Or is that a foodfession? I recently discovered the Boar’s Head Dark Chocolate Dessert Hummus. O M G. So good. It says to “enjoy with fruit, pretzels, and crackers.” What did I enjoy it with? A spoon. Oops.
Finally, I must also runfess that I dreamt that I wrote a post about my most recent half marathon. It was so realistic that I was shocked when there was no post on my blog on Thursday morning. What a disappointment. Just in case that post never writes itself, here’s proof I finished LOL.
If you are friends with me on Facebook, you know that I have a LOT of running related balls in the air right now. It’s all fun and exciting, but keeping them in the air is becoming a full time job. I’m either going to be super successful or blow up in a spectacular way. Again, it’s too bad that darned post did not write itself…
Happy Friday! Do you have race related plans this weekend?
I’m joining Running on Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0 linkup and Marcia’s Healthy Slice for Runfessions.
Ohhhh those realistic dreams are killers! Mostly I’m so glad when they’re NOT true but in the case of having a post done? Sign me up! I believe summer starts here on Monday with 80 degrees. Not sure where spring was exactly…
My “race-related” weekend will be spent racing back and forth for dance recital…transporting, spectating, mothering, and dancing (yikes!). I did consider doing a half on Sunday…for a fleeting moment LOL Good luck with your race!
You must never sleep. Seriously. And I just couldn’t do that. Good thing you enjoy running. 🙂
I do have a race this weekend, but just a 5k. It’s been so long since I really ran long, it’s kind of scary at this point!
Spring will be here in May, I hope!
I had planned to race a 10k on Sat and family plans got in the way. Now I plan to run a 5k on Sunday.
Of course, they changed the forecast from rain on Sat am to rain on Sun am.
Wow, you have been busy! Three events in one weekend is a lot even if you’re just running one. Well, if you’re happy then have at it! 🙂
I don’t have a race, but I have my last long run before I taper. I tried looking for a good local race to help me get my mileage in, but I didn’t find one.
You’ve definitely been keeping busy! Ragnar PA was really tough, I can’t imagine being on an ultra team, but you’re a pro so I’m sure you’ll nail your runs!
I’m running the New Jersey marathon on Sunday, heading up sometime tomorrow! I’m so excited/nervous/anxious, lol. I could go for some dessert hummus right now, haha!
That chocolate hummus sounds amazing! If it’s anything like the cookie dough treat I had this week I’d eat it with a spoon too! Good luck with balancing all your running stuff!
I am kind of afraid to try the chocolate hummus! Afraid I will like it 🙂 So great to see you let’s do it again soon. Have fun this weekend
Dang girl, you do have a lot on your plate right now!! Sounds like fun though …and yummy to that dessert hummus! I’ll have to be on the lookout for that!
Haha! I haven’t ever dreamed of a written post but I do write posts when I’m nearly asleep. They are so clever and funny and then poof! I wake up and the thoughts are gone.
You are one busy lady right now! Enjoy!
Being running busy always sounds better than just normal busy. Hope your run goes well!
