Speaking of comfort zones

July 24, 2010 by MCM Mama 12 Comments

I’m not afraid of heights, but I’m not exactly fond of them.  And I really freak out when my kids are up high with nothing between them and a fall.  So, if I had seen this sign BEFORE we hiked up…

I would have missed out on this…

and this….

and this…

But I also would not have had to done this…

In the bottom right you can see me with my dad and Shoo.  We were done with the scary steep part by that point.  There were parts where my dad would climb down a bit, make sure he was stable and I’d hand down Shoo.  Shoo’s propensity to jump into thin air did not help the process.

Beautiful! I would love to go up there but I'm sure with my little man in tow it would make me a bit nervous!

You are so brave! It looks gorgeous, but I think that sign would have sent me back down (and maybe back up later sans kids).

Yowza! Sometimes, though, you only realize how risky something is AFTER doing it. Which is maybe a good thing.

Why are beautiful places often dangerous places? Glad you guys were able to experience the view.

Wow! That sign would definitely have made Rocket stop dead in his tracks– and I am not sure Principessa would have made it.

Wow what a view! Going up is always easier, I hate going down steep areas.
