Here we are in a new year and everyone’s throwing around goals and becoming the “new them”. I’m over here trying to figure out how we are several days into the new year and I’m still trying to wrap up 2018. Ah well, I’ll get there. Instead of actually accomplishing something, I’ll write a blog post. I’m joining Deb and Coco‘s virtual coffee date and sharing what I’d chat about over coffee.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I kind of forgot about my blog over the break. I can’t even blame it on being busy – I had time to read a bunch of books and chill with my family. It was just kind of nice to take a break and not wonder what I should write about next.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I don’t want a “new me”, but I wouldn’t mind going back to the September me or even the October me. You know, the me that lifted weights and ate lots of veggies and got enough sleep. Yeah, that me went on vacation sometime after ZOOMA Florida and I’d really like to find her. I started lifting weights again today, so that’s a start at least. Now to figure out how to get enough sleep…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I have some big goals for 2019. Goals that will involve a lot of running. Goals that require me to get back on track. I’d also tell you that I haven’t run more than 3 miles at a time since the Rehoboth Half, so I’ve got a long ways to go. Perhaps I should think about writing a training plan. Nah, I’d rather fly by the seat of my pants.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the first week of January has been pretty cool so far. I got invited back to the Altra Red Team. I was accepted into the nuun ambassador program. I received my Runners Club Certificate from the Marine Corps Marathon. 2019 is looking pretty good so far (at least on the running/blogging front. I’m being a bit “Scarlett O’hara” about some other things.)

A blogging break is a wonderful thing…even if it’s involuntary like mine was. Congrats on the Nuun and Altra gigs. All the best with the new goals.
I guess if I have to make a goal, it would be just to keep on moving. Running is definitely a struggle these days and I just need to accept that I’m not going to set any PRs now. I keep saying finishing is winning–I just have to believe it!
Sounds like your 2019 is off to a great start! I took a short break from blogging over the holidays too and it felt good. Look forward to hearing all about your running goals. Thanks for joining us for coffee
Nothing wrong with a blogging break – I did the same over the holidays…truth be told I’m just slowing down on blogging altogether.
Congrats on both Altra and Nuun!
Congratulations on your ambassadorships. What books did you read, anything you’d recommend?
Good luck with your 2019 planning and goals.
Congrats on the Nuun and Altra. Good luck on your 2019 goals.
