I really wanted to call this post "It's Friday I'm in Love", but I figured that would reveal just a little too clearly how old I am LOL. I'm super excited to tell you about the Athleta Relay capri and the Athleta Luscious Half Zip. I'm a huge fan of Athleta. I love their clothes and I love that they support Girls on the Run. I've found that while their prices are high, the quality is worth it. I bought swimsuits from Athleta for cub scout camp this summer and love that they are both modest and comfortable in addition to performing well. I live in their Whatever skirt in the summer and I recently wore their Strata skirt on New Year's Eve, which was like wearing my pajamas and looking good at the same time. In fact, I think of Athleta … [Read more...]
TTT: Athleta, Nairn’s, and Alaskan Smoked Porter
1. Athleta FinishStrong2012 - I'm a huge fan of Athleta's clothing. I love the styles and the quality. I'm also a big supporter of Girls on the Run (why else would I get up at o'dark thirty to NOT run a race?) So, when the two join forces? Yeah, I'm all about that. Athleta will be engaging women to finish their 2012 strong by inspiring users to share their remaining 2012 aspirations and goals and encourage them to realize them before the year’s out. In the spirit of community, the efforts made across Athleta’s Twitter and Facebook will collectively result in inspiring and empowering young girls (through the amazing organization Girls on the Run) to do the same. With every action (pledge, share or like), Athleta will donate $1 … [Read more...]
Three Things Thursday
I'm sure someday soon I'll actually have a coherent post. Today is not that day. Between end of school activities, trying to wrap up all my client work to go off the grid for a week (Ack!), and my usual day to day stuff, I can't seem to keep a single thought in my head for more than a few minutes. I've been relying heavily on jotting notes, which would work great if I then didn't immediately throw the notes away in a cleaning frenzy. 1. I took the boys to the pool for the first time yesterday. Some random observations: Other women are obviously more comfortable with their bodies than I am. Nearly every woman there had on a bikini, regardless of age or size. Athleta Gotta Have it Run Shorts really work well as a swim suit … [Read more...]
A trip to Athleta
I've been warned that I will spend a lot of time in the water at Goshen. It's right by a lake + one of the day hikes is to a river. Read: I need a suit that will cover me appropriately AND stay on while hiking, canoeing, swimming, whatever. Thanks to a bit of stockpiling of Gap Rewards points, I was able to solve my problem quite nicely. And the fact that I'm actually going to show you pictures of me in the suits tells you just how awesome these suits are. (Note: I have not actually swum in any yet. I'll be working on that next week.) From left to right, the tops are: the Point Break Shoreside tankini, the Dragonfly Racer Tankini, and the Solid Bra Cup Twistini Tankini. The bottoms are: the Oceanside Short, the Gotta Have It Run … [Read more...]
Fab Four for Reese
I ran my four miles for Reese's Run (there's still time to sign up!) today because I won't run tomorrow or Saturday in preparation for the GW Parkway 10 miler on Sunday. I planned to take it really slow and easy, but apparently I suck at pacing myself. The first mile was 9:05. A little fast, but mostly downhill. About a third of the way through the second mile, I was really regretting it, thinking I'd gone out way too fast. Then I looked down at Garmin. I was running uphill, into the wind, at an 8:50 pace. Oops. No wonder I was dying! I ended up doing the 4 miles in 35:43, including a few stoplights. Not exactly the slow run I planned, but it felt good, nonetheless. The Lululemon shorts totally rocked the run! They were so … [Read more...]
