We had a lovely weekend, with some busy and lots of relaxing. I had five whole days of sleeping in! (Granted, sleeping in means 8am these days, but still...) It's always a little rough getting back to normal mornings. Yawn! I continued with Elf4Health and successfully completed all of last week's challenges. Perhaps the most satisfying was removing myself from mailing lists. It was so freeing to hit "unsubscribe". I carried this over to blog reading as well and finally got rid of those blogs I always skipped in my reader. Maybe I'll have more time to comment on blogs I love if I stop wasting time on the ones that make me go "meh". The hardest challenge this week will be to work out with a buddy. Saucony Kinvara 4 make me feel sassy!
When an unexpected box showed up at my door a few weeks ago, I picked it up and thought "who sent me an empty box?" Seriously. It was that light. Turns out, Saucony sent me a pair of Kinvara 4's to try out. I'll admit I didn't exactly jump for joy when I opened the box. I mean, I loved the packaging, but I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to like the shoes. I had tried on the Kinvara 3's not long before and they didn't work for me. For the last year+, I've been on a quest. For what? The perfect running shoe. When I started wearing minimalist shoes, I found that I run too heavy and on too much pavement to run major mileage with little or no cushion. Don't get me wrong, I love my Vibrams and my Pace Gloves, but my feet and calves were not at all enamored of them once I started half marathon training.
