Shoo and I had our weekly exercise class today. Most weeks, he runs around the room, while I'm able to get a workout in. Today he alternated between being clingy and trying to prevent me from doing what I was supposed to do. This made my workout amazingly harder. When he was clinging, it was just an extra 35 pounds while doing step and squats. It was a little more challenging when I was trying to do situps with him pushing my shoulders back down. The most difficult part, however, was pushing up to the plank position with him lying on my back. I may not be able to lift my arms tomorrow LOL. Didja miss me? Short story: I ran the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon this morning and finished in 1:59:24. Woot! More information than you probably care to know: We had an awesome weekend. We headed up north around 1 on Friday. After checking in and taking the boys to the pool, we met one of Beer Geek's college friends and her husband for dinner at the Iron Hill Brew Pub in Newark. They had some really good stuff on tap, including a yummy porter that I had and a stout on a nitrogen tap that Beer Geek had. We ended up taking a growler of the porter back to the hotel with us. I think I need to detox
After drinking my weight in margaritas, beer, and wine this weekend, I think it's time to start treating my body better. I don't even want to know what the scale will be saying tomorrow! Our trip to Texas was awesome. We had a great time with family and enjoyed celebrating Beer Geek's grandmother's birthday. In addition to the aforementioned alcohol, much barbecue and TexMex food was eaten. The boys had an awesome time with their cousins. They got to drive tractors, climb trees, and spend an afternoon throwing oranges into a pool (don't ask). And, of course, they had some great bonding time over the Nintendo DS and one of the Star Wars movies. Our trip home today was a bit surreal.
