I work part-time as a reference librarian at a public library. As most of you know, the reference desk of the public library is, well, a very public place. Because I am a substitute, I don't have a desk in the restricted area of the library plus I like to keep my phone with me. I'm not allowed to use it when I'm working, but I'm the primary contact for my children and Beer Geek is often unreachable, so I need to be able to hear my phone if there is an emergency. My life seems to be going in 1000 directions at once and 13 is my favorite number, so... 1. Yesterday I spent my entire day in snow pants. I put them on early in the day to shovel snow and just never took them off. Why? Because my drafty old house does not do well with wind chills below zero. 2. It appears that I got the job I interviewed for last week. At least HR thinks so. I have an appointment next week to fill out paper work, but I haven't been contacted by the department I'll work for, so I'm not exactly sure what I've been hired for LOL. 3. 1. I've been calling myself a stay at home mom for about 7 years now. But, it occurred to me the other day that I've become more of a work at home mom over the last year. I'm currently juggling two occupations and hope to add a third on Friday. I am basically the operations manager for a friend's company. He's been getting more work than he can handle on his own, so I'm taking over making sure that some of the work gets done by his contractors. I've had to learn a bunch of new software systems and create whole new processes. I love it and it uses my brain in ways it hasn't been used in a while.
