I'm trying to roll with the punches for our family schedule, I've taken another part time job running ZOOMA's ambassador program, and I'm working out in a different way. I've had to make some changes to my life to accommodate those things. I keep a running list of tickets I need to buy and races I'd like to run (along with deadlines for price increases, although I'm currently of the opinion that I'll pay more and actually run a race rather than register early and lose that money if life gets in the way.) I have timers on my computer that I use … [Read more...]
Five Sources for Great At-Home Workouts
One of my goals for 2016 has been to set up a workout room in our house. As you've seen, I recently cleaned out the kids' playroom and got a new treadmill. In addition, I happen to have a Fit Desk (AKA an exercise bike with a platform for your computer), weights, bands, and a Bosu ball. Monday I chose the "kill 8 hours" option and spent that time test driving cars to replace my Civic. While it was time well spent (I decided which car and even did some negotiating), it was EXHAUSTING. It didn't help that the last salesman had the personality of a wet sponge and knew less about the car than I did. I walked out of that dealership completely drained. (And since I know … [Read more...]
I don’t wanna
I'm pretty sure every mom has heard that phrase at least once in their lives, usually from their 2 year old who's refusing something like putting on shoes or eating their breakfast. Some kids go through a phase where that's their response to pretty much everything, even good things. Today, my inner two year old was loud and clear: I don't wanna. I need to work. I don't wanna. I need to run. I don't wanna. I need to go grocery shopping. I don't wanna. Apparently my inner two year old wanted to just sit and do nothing and drink coffee. (What can I say? My inner two year old has sophisticated tastes...) I told myself that this month I don't have to run if I don't want to. But, that doesn't mean I can sit on my butt and … [Read more...]
