I’m feeling better today than I usually am after a long race. My quads are sore and I’m a little awkward on the stairs, but other than that, I feel great. Shoo and I took our usual mommy and me exercise class this morning. Some of the moves were a little difficult and Shoo made sure I really worked my upper body by lying on top of me while I was doing pushups.
The rest of yesterday was pretty mellow. I took the boys out on a quick shopping trip (something I generally avoid like the plague!) while Beer Geek mowed the lawn. Then we took a family walk up to the convenience store for slurpees (yeah, we really know how to celebrate mother’s day around here). Afterwards, Jones spent an hour or so researching caterpillars on the internet and taking notes in his bug journal and Shoo spent some time playing “dress up” in his bedroom, so I got a chance to straighten the house and get some other stuff done. All in all, a nice relaxed day.
Saturday is the Girls on the Run 5K. I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s an awesome program, plus I really enjoy running as a buddy runner. I doubt it will be a PR, but some of the girls are really fast, so it may depend on who I’m with. The rest of this week will just be some nice, relaxed 3-4 mile runs. I’m also looking forward to getting back to doing some strengthening and toning stuff. I really dropped the ball on that in April and I miss it.
If you enjoyed your Day, sister (Mom’s day), then you did it up right!Good luck getting back into the swing of strength and toning training and I bet you DO PR in your 5k!
Caterpillar research? Cool! I’m excited about the GOTR 5K, too. Would be funny if it were a PR!
Did you at least spike your slurpee? :)Enjoy your week! I hope to incorporate some strength training back into my regime, too – feeling pretty squishy.
I love relaxed days. I’d like more of those. I’m glad you’re feeling good! 😀
Glad you’re feeling good, care to share your secret?! LOL
Sounds like an excellent, relaxing day!
Yes, a kid on your back would certainly increase the difficulty of a push up!
First, CONGRATS on the PR!! Fabulous job! 13 seconds is still a good chunk of time chica!!Who knows, maybe you’ll get a PR on Sat too!
Sounds like a nice relaxing day, those are the best!
