The mother of all wedgies

This post will be mostly (entirely?) non-running related, so stop now if all you care about is running ;o)

I’m on the product testing panel for a company that makes torture devices, umm, I mean “body shapers” and “slimming undergarments”. I’ve gotten some cool items in the past to try and one or two have actually been useful in my real life. I’m supposed to wear each item three times for four hours each time and wash it at least twice. Then I have to fill out a survey.

While I was on vacation, Beer Geek told me I’d gotten a new product in the mail. I asked him what it was. He wasn’t sure LOL. Even when he read the product description to me, he still didn’t get how it was supposed to be worn. From what we could figure out, it’s a basically underpants with a slimming tube attached. Except the panties are a thong.

Let’s just say I don’t expect this particular product to go to market. It’s constricting through the belly and no matter how high or low I wear it, it rolls down (and my midsection is NOT one of my problem areas.) Add the (dis) comfort factor of a thong that’s being pulled way too high, and well, like I said, not one of their better ideas.

On a totally unrelated note, my legs were barely sore after the 17 miles (Woohoo!) and I had little in the way of blisters, sore spots, or chafing. I have three more really long runs and I’ve decided to start each one near the beginning of the Marine Corps Marathon and run the first threeish miles, so I know what to expect come marathon day.

Who is MCM Mama?
A slightly obnoxious mom and wife who loves good beer and running, who struggles a bit with depression especially in the winter and when running isn’t allowed, who’d rather go on a fun vacation than upgrade the kitchen or add a master bath, and has a minor addiction to the Marine Corps Marathon.
