Have I mentioned that I love cold weather? Oh, yeah, only about 5,342 times. ;o)
One of the things I love about the cooler weather is pulling out my warmer running clothes. I like my summer tees and shorts, but I have some awesome winter stuff. And since it’s that gift giving time of year, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you all.
Right now I’m running in my ALO capris and in either my Nike half zip or my Thrive half zip most of the time. I gave the capris a favorable review when I got them, but I have to say they’ve moved into “favorite run item” status.
|Wish that was my butt. It’s not.|
It’s just starting to approach really cold weather here, so I won’t get to wear my other favorites for a while, but if you live north of the Mason Dixon line, here are a few other things that rock my world.
Lululemon Wunder Under Pants – I reviewed these last winter when I first started running in them. I used them heavily last year and they still look like new. So, I’m gonna state for the record that yes, they were worth the money.
Sugoi Running Jacket – I love love love this jacket. I’m cheap, I never would have bought it for myself, but winning this was the best thing to ever happen to my winter running.
EMS Power stretch gloves -These are not specifically running gloves, but I picked them up at Eastern Mountain a couple of winters ago and they are perfect for seriously cold days. I’ve worn them in cold rain and somehow they keep my hands warm even when they are completely soaking wet!
Nike fleece cap – Love this thing. Keeps my head warm without being too much. Is it weird that I am excited to use the ponytail hole for the first time ever this year?
Ryders Hex Sunglasses – I was given these to review a year and a half ago. I’m pretty sure I haven’t run without them since then. My mom borrowed mine and liked them so much she bought herself a pair. In fact, I like them so much I’d buy a new pair if they broke. (And that’s saying a lot considering just how cheap I am LOL).
|The half zip I mentioned above and the glasses|
So, what are your favorite running things? Beer Geek and the boys never know what to get me, so I’d love some suggestions!
Disclaimer: Some of the above I was given for review, some I won or got as gifts, some I paid for out of my pocket. No one asked me to write this post and all opinions are my own.

must not be TOO cold if you are still in capris. it's in the 20s in the mornings here alredy. brrrrr
I also have the Sugoi Firewall 220! I call it my Jacket of Wonder. I love it. It is so warm. I also got mine at a personal cost to me of $0.00 through a combination of a half-off sale and a gift certificate. Score!
Definitely Sparkly Soul Headbands! They are perfect for keeping your hair in place when you run – and who doesn't love a little extra sparkle when you are out there running? =)
I also invested in some lulu tights last year – best thing ever. I am actually sad in the spring when I can't wear them anymore!
New follower from the blog hop. I assume you already have an i-pod but my other must have gadget is my Timex ironman watch. You can use it to control your i-pod! Much easier than fiddling with your i-pod on a run. I am hoping for a GPS watch this Christmas. Ever used one?
One of the benefits of running in the early morning is that it's dark and no one can see the seriously ancient running clothes I own! I need to buck up and buy some new gear – that jacket looks fab!
Wow, you like running in winter better? Brrrrr…. I love running in the fall, when you can wear the capris or pants but you are not freezing and sweating at the same time! I did wonder if those Lululemon pants were worth it; I have heard great things about them but can not get over the sticker shock!
I love running in cooler weather, too! It makes me so happy. I run so much faster, too. I don't do so well in heat.
i just haven't been able to fall in love with ALO. I always look like i must be wearing a diaper under my capri's 🙂
Where's the picture of you modelling the Lululemon undies? Disappointing!
i love love love my lululemon wunder unders…seriously, the most comfortable pants i own. i wish i had more so i could wear them every single day in the winter. so comfy.i really need some good running sunglasses…i have spent tons of money on cheap pairs over the years – that wind up breaking. at first the idea was that i wanted them to be cheap in case they fell off or got ruined, but now i am starting to think that was foolish and maybe i just need a good pair, even if they cost more money. going to check out the ryders!
Love my Nike gloves and half-zip. And all my long pants. They keep me warm, they keep me covered and modest.
Love the jacket! I haven't bought new winter running clothes in forever so this year I've been buying like crazy. My favorite at the moment is Nike running pants. I'm on the search for a jacket next. Thanks for linking up!
I'm like you – I'll run in the cold over the heat ANYTIME. Although these days, I'm not doing much running in any weather. Not what I'm supposed to anyway. My fave running thing has/is/always will be my Garmin 😉
