1. Yesterday I ran 19 miles. It was nowhere near as amazing as the 9 I’d run the day before, but I got it done. I met my friend after running 4.5 and she ran about 12 with me. I’d never have made it otherwise. My pace averaged out at 10:44, which was pretty amazing since I had one mile over 12 and one or two over 11 (we hit some MAJOR hills). It was warm and sunny and I was pretty dehydrated by the end, despite drinking all the liquid in my four fuel belt bottles, plus refilling one. Amazingly, I ran mile 18 in 10:40 and mile 19 in 10:30 (with half of that mile at a 9:30 pace!), even though my quads were screaming at that point. I took an ice bath and drank a Gu recovery drink (review after I use it again) and today my legs are tired, but not sore and one of my feet hurts from wearing worn out shoes. 28 miles in two days and I can still walk! I’m gonna call that a success!
Three Things Thursday
2. I spent today working on some of the house projects that are just not getting done. One of those projects was to attempt to repair our shutters and prep them for painting. They are 7 foot tall solid wood shutters and are original to our 1939 house. I’ve repaired and painted them before, but today one literally fell off the house while I was working on it. Oops. Hopefully I can put it back together and get it back up with Beer Geek’s help, since replacing them is really not in the budget this year.
And an extra: I’m LOVING this weather! It’s currently 69 degrees and I’m sitting on my front steps watching Shoo and his friend play. I could totally handle this weather all year round.
3. My car is in the shop, getting new tires. I walked Jones and Shoo to school, walked to the gym to lift weights, and walked to get Shoo and a friend from school. Soon, we’ll have to walk to get Jones from school and then hopefully walk to get the car. By the time all is said and done, I’ll have walked at least 5 miles today. So much for a rest day LOL.

Great job on the 19 miler! DEFINITE SUCCESS! Hopefully all of that walking today will keep your muscles nice and loose. Active recovery, right?? :)Also, I'm with you. This is my FAVORITE weather. I could do without it getting any warmer, thankyouverymuch.
Congrats on the 28 miles in 2 days! All of the walking today should keep the legs nice and loose!
Way to kick 19 miles of butt!
Awesome!!!! That is so great that you can walk to all those places. Where I live, there is nothing that is within walking distance. I would love to be able to walk places. It has been around 60 here, which is such a treat!
Wow! You sure are pumping out those miles! I can't even imagine that many miles in two days…
Running 19 the day after running 9 is amazing to me at any pace! WTG! Glad the weather is nice–amazing though how much more we need to drink–no more camel syndrome!
I bet the 5 miles of walking really helps with your recovery from your long run! ๐ Nice job on the 28 miles in 2 days!
Nice job on the long run! I bet all those walking miles today will help your legs loosen up.
At least everything you have to do is within walking distance!
yeah, so that's like my WEEKLY mileage (lol) Good work!
So jealous of your mileage! Awesome job and it has been warm too. That's an adjustment! I keep over dressing out of habit.I have so much to do outside our PA house but no funds to do it with. Hummm, I'll have to get creative.I walked with the kids after my run last night. Just to stay outside a little longer.
Awesome job on the run. You pretty much ROCK.Love that you have the motivation to work on the house after 2 intense running days. All I've done this week is swim, fitness and a tiny bit of run, and my house is filthy because I'm completely uninspired. And finally – the weather … after all that (whte stuff we don't talk about) it's almost freaky to walk outside and just go for a run. Consider, was it only a month ago that we were still shoveling out?
Awesome job on the 19 miler! You rock. How do you fit those runs in during the week? And yes, this weather is the best!
Holy moly canoli – 19 miles, that is STELLAR!!!! I can't even comment any more because I am in AWE of you!!
Yay on the 19miles! Sounds like a great run, and congrats on your body recovering well :)As for rest? Mothers don't get that ๐
Wow I do believe in three days (counting all that walking) you clocked more miles than I did the whole month of February, your a rockstar. ๐
I can only dream of the day where I will finish nineteen miles:) Heck I am still dreaming of the day where the half marathon doesn't kick my butt!! Nice job on your long run:) BTW: thanks for your beer tips!
Sounds like you did great on the 10 miler! Yeah! Plus all that walking. Enjoy your warm weather!
Awesome 19 miler! That's an amazing two days of running. Good luck with the house repairs.

Great job on running 19! Glad you had a buddy to keep you going!
You did a fine job on the 19. I have a 20-miler this afternoon in the high 60's..1/2 looking forward to it, 1/2 dreading it. I know you know what i mean:)Have a great weekend!
Great job on the run. That's just beyond my comprehension at this point in my running. I thinks it's awesome that so much is in walking distance for you. I would love to walk to school and to the store and such. And with weather this great, I'm sure it was very enjoyable.
Great job on your 19 miler! I can only imagine how you feel, I am only up to 14. Glad to hear you had a friend to run with and help you through. Is there such a thing as rest day when you have kids?
