1. I could never be a food blogger. Beer Geek and I went to an amazing beer and food pairing dinner at Mad Fox last night. The beers, as I expected, were amazing. But the food. Oh, the food. The chef went with a BBQ theme – we had jerk chicken wings and lamb and baby back ribs and… Oh. My. Goodness. I don’t like a lot of what he chose to make and yet, it was an incredible meal and the beer paired in a way I’ll never be able to re-create at home. (Not with my mediocre cooking skills anyway.) So, it was this incredible, wonderful, beautifully presented meal – and I didn’t take a single picture. Oops.
2. Another picture fail: yesterday was crazy hair day at the boys’ school. Shoo told me at the last minute that he wanted purple hair. I didn’t have time to go to the store, so I suggested we paint his hair blue and yellow with craft paint. It looked really cool! I never took a picture, sigh.
That picture above? Not a really cool abstract painting. No, it’s the bottom of my tub. Apparently craft paint does not wash out and when you scrape it out of your hair, it sticks to the bottom of the tub. Since I wasn’t home to clean the tub when it was wet (see #1), I get to spend some time today trying to scrub it off the tub.
3. Generally speaking, I’m one who embraces change. I’ve moved a lot in my life. I’ve had quite a few different jobs. I usually am up for trying new things.
I’m having a really hard time with google reader and igoogle going away. I get up every morning, get my coffee, and open igoogle. All of the new posts I want to read are there, links to all my bank/credit cards are there, heck, even the weather is there. Reader is going away first and then igoogle. I’m trying to embrace the other options, but I haven’t figured out exactly what I’m going to do yet. And time is running out to transfer my reader…
If you are facing the same issues, you can follow me on Blog Lovin or on Feedly (or maybe you can suggest something better…)
Bonus: I ran yesterday AND did my Best Body workout. I’m more than a little bit sore today – even my armpits hurt…
I am devestated about Google Reader. I don’t know how to internet without it, and I keep hoping there will be a last minute reprieve. We are going to the beach next week, so I need to come up with a solution stat, or I will be up against a wall when we get home. Bummer.
I know a lot of people are really struggling with Google reader going away. It’s going to be an interesting transition for many.
Yay for running and doing the best body workout yesterday, sore is a good thing, means you worked hard! Nice job~
I never used Google Reader but I have been using BlogLovin’ for several months now and love it!!!
It look me awhile to get over the loss of Google reader but, honestly, I’m loving Feedly.
I don’t cope with change at all – why must there be change? Why can’t Google reader stay? Haven’t we all been loyal users? Now I’m going to have to learn something new. And I’m an old dog – new tricks are hard for me.
Sounds like a great meal you had. I would not be a good food blogger as well. I always forget to take photos of the best things… I’ve never used Google reader and to be honest only find out it’s going away now when I read your post.
Feeling like you have to take pictures takes away from the experience – in my opinion.
My friend, too, mourning the loss of Google Reader.
I’ve got bloglovin but I’m waiting until the last minute before I have to start using it.
