AKA “What I’m writing when I should be writing a newsletter article”
- I went to the gym again today. I used the elliptical and the bike again and got a decent work out. It doesn’t feel as much like a workout as running does, but I’m hot, I’m sweaty, and my heart rate goes up, so I’ll count it. That’s two weeks in a row for those of you keeping track at home. I do, however, need to invest in some of the special detergent for sports clothes. It’s one thing when your clothes start stinking while out running. It’s an entirely different thing when you could clear the room with your stank and you’ve barely started sweating.
- I’ve become involved in so many different activities lately that I’m starting to have a hard time keeping track of what needs to be done for which and by when. I’ve not only got “to do” lists, but also “done” lists so that when I panic about having forgotten something, I can see if I actually already did it. I’m taking on a new project in a few weeks that I’m really excited to do, so I’m trying to find a way to streamline what I already have going on. I may need to break down and get some sort of electronic organizer/smart phone. Meanwhile, I’m practicing the word “No” in front of the mirror.
- I did it! I signed up for the Bob Potts Heritage Trail Marathon on May 16th. Ack!
Yea for signing up! I've found prowash to work the best. You can get it on Amazon for a decent price.
I hear you on the stinky workout clothes. I notice it big time at the gym and always wonder if those around me notice too. :/Congrats on signing up for the marathon!
I need to invest in some good laundry detergent for my workout clothes, otherwise I will be replacing them sooner, rather than later, because regular detergent just isn't going to cut it!I too need to practice saying "no" at work… but being a newer teacher at our school, and always trying to please others, it has been hard. I may be stepping down from a committee this year, howeverl.Oooh… a marathon trail run! WahoO!
Hooray for signing up!! We have a ton of the Penguin Sport Wash samples at work I can send you a few of. If you want to email me your address (runninglaur at gmail) they'll be on the way!
Yea for signing up for the marathon!
You stink? Now way! Say it isn't so.
I just soak my stuff in OxyClean before I throw it in the washer then air dry. No embedded 'stank'! Congrats on signing up!
Congrats on registering for the marathon!I noticed that my clothes stunk AFTER they had just been washed. Might be time for some of that detergent.
LOL – I had a shirt that looked PERFECT but stank so bad that I couldn't even stand myself. I regretfully threw it out. And bought sports detergent.
Congrats on signing up for Bob Potts! Exciting!
Hooray for signing up for the marathon! As for stinky clothes, I don't really have that problem. At least I don't think I do. Maybe I do and I'm just used to it and no one wants to tell me that I reek! Hmmmm… Prowash, Oxy Clean, Penguin… must check these out…
I like lists too! They work. And putting up a sign that says, No! Now that's agreat idea.Yeah! for signing up!
congrats on the trail marathon!
Congrats on the race sign up. It will be fun to read about your training.
Ack!! LOL..congrats!
You are my HERO! Congrats on signing up. And, for going to the gym!We use Charlie's Soap on all of our clothes, but it certainly keeps the funk out of the workout clothes. If Dad Wonder leaves his piled up in locker at the gym for too long, I soak them in Dr Bronner's Sals Suds for a while and then wash to get the mildew smell out first.
Good job on the Marathon. I didn't know they made special detergent for sports clothes. And after reading some of the other comments, I'm feeling like my workouts are lacking. I don't feel/smell an embedded "stank." Hermmm.
I have the same problem w/ my running stuff. I really only have 1-3 outfits per season and I wear them repeatedly w/o washing. Sometimes I smell myself and I STINK!
P.S. Congrats on deciding to do the Trail marathon!!
