1. I got my 13.1 miles in today. The roads and sidewalks weren’t bad and my pace was ok. I think I averaged a 10:08 pace, which is acceptable for FIRST and fast for Higdon. Garmin went funky on me for a bit, so I don’t have good splits, but I did the last mile in 9:49 and felt pretty good during it. I definitely have to figure out what and when to eat before running though. I had breakfast (a peanut butter and honey sandwich) at 7:00 am and then a gu at 9:00am right before I started running. I was STARVING the whole time. I think I may need to eat more the night before.
2. They are calling for snow here AGAIN. Really? Really? Our county sent out an alert warning everyone to be prepared to shelter in place for 3-5 days. Really? Beer Geek took tomorrow off because he doesn’t want to deal with commuting home in the snow with all the freaked out drivers. The grocery stores are insane. I had to go to Costco today (should have gone yesterday, but it seriously never occurred to me to take Shoo and go LOL). It was so insane that I had to park at a parking garage next door and only bought what I could carry because getting a cart back there would be insane. What did I buy? Nothing I couldn’t live without for another week and Wii Active. Yeah, I have my priorities straight.
3. I just got listed as one of the “Top Ten Fitness Blogs for Moms” on UpSpring Baby’s blog. I don’t know how they chose, but I’ll take my 15 minutes of fame LOL. They have a product called “Milkscreen” that checks the amount of alcohol in a mom’s breast milk. Hmm, that might have been useful back when I was nursing the boys. I’m just sayin’.
