Three Things Thursday

1. Yesterday was one of “those”days. Nothing went precisely wrong, but nothing went smoothly either. My desktop and laptop would not talk to each other. Purchase of some very important tickets went wonky. Garmin went into bracelet mode on me. Shoo managed to mess up one of Jones’ video games. On and on it went. It’s amazing how exhausting a day like that can be.

2. Thank goodness this is a fallback week. I “only” had to run 10 miles yesterday. After discovering that Garmin’s battery was dead, I headed out on as straight a route as I could manage, so that I could remember it and map it when I got home. A third of a mile in, I realized I’d left my water and Gu at home. Sigh, see #1. I decided to run 5 miles, then stop at home and then run 5 more. I “ran” the first five down the major hill into Rosslyn and back up. I need to remember to do that more often, as I have a race that involves that hill coming up soon. I finally got back home, picked up Garmin and my amphipod, and headed out again. This time I stayed in the relatively flat part of my neighborhood. My time was even slower than the first five. Darn good thing I only had 10 to do. (And to add injury to insult LOL, my quads are SORE today. Huh?)
3. I’m about to head over to the gym. I can’t wait! Am I maybe, just maybe getting addicted to cross training? Nah. I just want to keep the “guns” now that I have ’em.

    I am running 4 Courts Four Miler too and I am very worried about that hill! Good for you getting some hills in. I have to leap that friggin' Leprechaun, and that hill may end it for me!! Hopefully your day today will be much better!! 😉
