Three Things Thursday: Chiro, 100 miles, and PInterest

December 29, 2011 by MCM Mama 9 Comments

1. I saw a different chiro yesterday.  He went to work on a calf issue I’ve been having.  I pretty much cried like a baby.  Then he put on some KT Tape and told me to run with it today.  The result?  4.1 miles of pain free, barefoot running on the treadmill.  Yay!  He also told me I should try wearing calf sleeves.  Guess it’s time to actually review those Tommie Copper sleeves I have.

2.  I have 1.3 miles left to hit 100 miles for the month and 6.5 miles left to hit 800 for the year.  I think if I’d known that was all I had left, I would have kept running.  Good thing I didn’t know.  I’m trying really hard to be smart about both my increase of mileage and my barefoot running.  I’m also trying to be happy about that 800 miles.  I’ve been hitting 1000 a year since I started tracking.  I need to just be glad I’m running again.

3.  I recently joined Pinterest.  I’m not hugely active on it, but I’m always finding things on the internet that interest me and then I can never find them again, so I’m trying to use it for that.  If you want to hit me up over there, I’m MCMMamaRuns (yes, there was already an MCMMama, WTH?)

And a bonus:  No, Shoo did not wear the holey pants.  I was going to let him, but when Jones and I were getting dressed in nice pants, he asked where his nice pants were.  I found him a pair of khaki’s (probably his only pants WITHOUT holes) and he wore those instead.  And yes, it is awesome that my parents read my blog.

Who would have thought KT Tape would make a difference. I, for one, am sold!

So glad you were able to run pain free! Want to send some of that goodness my way? I'm going crazy here.I'm on pinterest too, very sporadically. It can be fun and interesting, but also definitely a time suck. I'm following you now!

I love KT Tape. Some folks think it's only a placebo, but since it makes my aches go away, call me a sucker but I'm using it :)What is this Pinterest thing? I'd go investigate but it sounds like something I should really stay away from given my propensity to waste time.

I'm really curious about the KT tape now having heard a few good reports. I'd be interested to see if it helps my hip issue and I'd love a fluoro pink racing stripe down the back of my left leg.

A slightly obnoxious mom and wife who loves good beer and running, who struggles a bit with depression especially in the winter and when running isn’t allowed, who’d rather go on a fun vacation than upgrade the kitchen or add a master bath, and has a minor addiction to the Marine Corps Marathon.
