1. I think running in hell might have been easier than my run today. Why? Because I assume hell is a dry heat. When I headed out for my run today, it was 80 degrees with 85% humidity. I thought I left the heat back in VA, but apparently it followed me to Wisconsin. Add in the fact that my parents’ neighborhood used to be a corn field and you have zero shade. I managed 5 miles at about a 10:25 pace before I started to get a headache and called it quits. I’m still debating one more mile on the treadmill.
2. I’ve officially crossed over to the dark side. I’ve now run several times outside in a running bra. I’m afraid the glare from my scary white belly might blind drivers, but it’s just too hot to wear much these days. I think I may need to find some routes that don’t involve construction sites though. Just sayin’.
3. Circle swim? I know you guys are going “huh, Mama doesn’t swim”. You’d be mostly right. However, it is HOT here and my parents’ have one of the round Intex pools in their backyard. I’ve actually been in it. I attempted to do a little swimming for exercise. Going across the pool takes about three strokes, so I tried to swim in a circle. After I swam in to the ladder three times, I decided that maybe I should just relax and enjoy the pool.
Now I’m off to get a massage. Camp Grandma and Papa is the best camp ever. ;o)
every time I run in just a sports bra I feel like I am breaking the law. I'm not sure if I will ever feel comfortable …
Love your comment about how running in hell would be easier! So officially sick of this humidity! You did great for getting in five!!
TMB comment killed me — guess I should be in jail for sure. You are right on the heat – in AZ at least it's a "dry heat". 😉
No dry heat in PA and it seems to be getting worse. Ugh! No sports bras only here either. They'd be staring but not in a good way.I swim circles too but I don't think I am doing it long enough to be exercise. Floating should be a sport!
Love your guts! I can't bring myself to run in just the bra, no matter how badly I wish I could 🙂
I'm pretty sure hell is humid…otherwise it would really be hell.problem with backyard pools is that they just aren't long enough for a good swim workout. i've been trying to convince a friend to put in a really long pool.
I say grab a pool noodle and enjoy flaoting around with a beer in your hand!
I am trying to picture the circle swim…hilarious! Don't worry, the Va humidity is still here, just where you left it :)Proud of your sports bra run – I wish I had the courage

All you need now is an ice cold brew. If only they had Brew Pubs in Wisconsin…
Hitting the ladder was your way of counting laps????
I have been flaunting my belly flab all over the place all summer – it's just been too darn hot! Enjoy your massage!
Lucky for my town that I run in the dark because I've been running sans shirt. The heat and humidity and mosquitoes are brutal, but happily only for a few more weeks, or so they say.
Relax and enjoy the pool, girl! And dang, it's been freakin' hot and humid here in the Midwest!
I know running in Florida feels like hell sometimes! Swimming in circles…I'd get dizzy probably, LOL.
No matter how hot it is, I still can't get myself to run in a sports bra. Yet I wear a bikini at the beach. Go figure.
I'm ready for winter to roll around. Yep. Skip fall, and just hop right to winter. I am tired of this heat.
Oh how I wish I could run in a bra…but can't seem to find the courage. It's been hot as hell here too!
It's got to cool down in Wisconsin! Here's hoping for your sake!
I ran in just a sports bra a few times this summer and had the same feeling! But you get to a point when comfort prevails!Enjoy your camp!
