1. A while back, I joined “Team Tough Chik”. It has turned out to be a wonderfully supportive group of women that I’m really enjoying being part of. And now I can dress the part. My team “kit” came yesterday. I’m really really excited to race in it.

2. Today and Friday I will be spending my mornings/early afternoons at the Brooks exhibit at the RNR DC expo. I’m really looking forward to spending the time there and hope to have some time afterwards to do a bit of shopping. Getting to spend a day hanging out with other runners? Why, yes, that does sound like a good idea. Thank you, Melody, for passing my name on to the coordinators.
3. My half marathon training for the Blue Ridge half marathon is going surprisingly well, considering I’m not actually following a training plan LOL. I ran what might possibly have been my slowest 12 miles ever on Tuesday, but I’m actually going to call it a good run. Why? Because it was in the mid to high 70s and I was running at noon. Now, if this were the middle of summer, that would have been acceptable, but in March, my body was not at all ready for it. I ended up completely emptying my water bottle by mile 10 and having to stop at Pacers running store for a refill. I actually took a really cold bath (I don’t do ice LOL) in my running clothes afterwards and it felt so good. That’s normally a sentiment I don’t feel except in the heat of summer. So, yeah, 12 miles in Vibrams in warm weather. I’m pretty sure I’m ready (and I still have 5 weeks to train. Win!)
We definitely need to adjust to these temperatures! I am noticing that I go through so much more water already.
Have fun at the expo!
Great job on your run! Love the cute new gear:)
That’s one hot run!! Kudos to you for sticking that out. Sounds like you’re building your toughness, which you will need for Blue Ridge!
Oh so excited to get my kit in the mail! Really hoping that is comes today. Glad your running is going good!
Speaking of the Blue Ridge… I was in Roanoke yesterday and saw a flyer for the YMCA Kids Marathon http://www.ymcaroanoke.com for more info.
Basically the kids complete 25.2 miles before 4/21 and then run the last mile together on race day. They get a shirt, a medal, and rewards for different milestones.
I know you were trying to get your son more into exercise, so I thought of you when I saw the flyer. (it is for K-5)
Great run! I can’t wait to get home next Monday and open all of my mail. Is it sad that I actually miss that when I travel?
The Tough Chik gear was obviously designed by a woman – it looks great! Love the colours.
Great job on the run in the heat. I’m kind-of imagining you like my dog in the heat – finding a pool of water and just sinking into it.

I WANT A THIS IS WHAT TOUGH LOOKS LIKE TEE!!!
I was at the expo – so much better run than last year. My kids LOVED the Brooks tent – they even won some prizes!
Work at the Brooks booth? Oh yes! Did you ever get the email I sent you last weekend? Has your email changed? If you were just busy and didn’t get to it no problem. Just some nonsense!
