I got a new shoe rack yesterday. Beer Geek’s comment? “I’m pretty sure you could land planes just from the brightness of your shoes.
Jones, on the other hand, focused on my non-running shoes. “Mom, even with all those shoes on the rack, your closet is full of brown and black shoes!”
Yes, I admit I have a problem.
Luckily, it’s a problem Kindrunner can handle.
What is Kindrunner, you ask?
Kindrunner is the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new shoes. Runners receive ‘Kindness Cash Rewards’ for every shoe they send to us. In turn, we give those old shoes to our shoe donation partners, including Soles 4 Souls and the More Foundation, to benefit people in need. What we are looking to do is to take shoes that would normally go into landfills or in someones closet and re-purpose them, give them to someone who would greatly value them.
Kindrunner is just getting started and is expecting to launch on June 1. But, until then, grab a partner, go to their temporary site, and sign up for a chance to win shoes for a year.
Me? I’ll keep looking at my rainbow of shoes until it’s time to start sending them on to Kindrunner to be used by someone else. Win/win for everyone!
Love all of the colors on the rack!!
And, you can never have too many shoes! In my world, shoes fit no matter what kind of day it is!!!
one pair of running shoes at a time is enough for me…and our running store have always taken back old shoes to give to charities of their choice. For years so it’s not something new.
That’s such a great idea. A lot of races have “shoe drops” that get donated to charities, I have done that before but not all do so Kind runner seems like a good alternative. I keep my shoes for a while (they get demoted from long run to short run to walking to everyday use before I donate them, get the most for my money) 🙂
I have a shoe problem as well. I feel like every time I leave the house I come back with shoes. Oh well, at least I keep them organized. Nice colors btw!
Please tell me where you got this shoe rack from, I have been looking everywhere for it
I got it at the Container Store, but honestly, it sucks. It won’t stay together, despite glue and bungee cords. It’s too bad because it’s exactly what I want as far as size and the way the shoes fit.
