TOTR: Running free for all

August 4, 2015 by MCM Mama 12 Comments

All of us over at Tuesdays on the Run have a little bit of crazy going on in our lives right now, so we decided to make this week be a “free topic” week. So write about any running related topic and link up with April, Patty, and me this week.  Real topics resume next week:

August 11: Fall Race Schedule

August 18: Running Role Models/Runners You Admire

August 25: Running Bras

TuesdaysOnTheRunsmall

I’m packing like a crazy woman (the boys and I are leaving Beer Geek here and heading to Wisconsin). I’ve also been busy attempting to evict a squirrel from my attic. OK, actually, we did evict him, but he (or probably more accurately she) would like back in and has spent the last two days chewing. Me? I spent the day squirting her with the water hose while I waited for our rodent guy to come reinforce the area.  Ugh.

Know what I didn’t do yesterday? I didn’t run. My achilles was not happy with me on Sunday night at.all.  So, achilles + squirrel + hot weather = MCM Mama took a day off.  And drank a beer.

So, since I have nothing nice to say about running (or squirrels) today, here are a few posts you might find useful as we head into race season….

Tips-for-beating-pre-race-anxiety

mental-barriers-training

Time Management during Marathon Training

weight loss during marathon training

marathon training stress

Multi day races

I look forward to reading about whatever running related topic you choose to share!

Oh no on the would-be resident in your attic! When I was a child, we had issues with raccoons and birds trying to take up residence. It’s not fun!

    Enjoy your time in Wisconsin!!!

Our bodies really need to get in line & cooperate.

Enjoy your trip! Although a week with 2 boys sounds like a handful.

Yikes! Having a squirrel in your house is no fun. When I was a kid, I had two frightening squirrel experiences. 1) a squirrel ran up my leg. 2) a squirrel hid inside my bicycle basket, my dad put my bicycle in the car, and the squirrel ran around the car like wild. Needless to say, I am not a fan haha.

I hope you beat the squirrel in the fight for ownership of the attic. It’s never good to be beaten by a rodent.

Ooh having a squirrel in the attic would definitely freak me out! One time when I was renting an apartment my roommate swore that she heard some animal running around inside the walls.
I hope your achilles is feeling better…I had problems with mine years ago but (knock on wood) it doesn’t bother me anymore.

Don’t get my started on squirrels. They climb down our pool ladder so they can drink. They chew the brackets that hold my flag poles. They chew the spray nozzles attached to our hoses. If I put small plants in the ground, they wait for me to back out of my driveway and then dig them up. The metal benches in our neighborhood park, have tooth marks all across the back. Wicked little devils.
