1. Last weekend I made an awful discovery: we only had two types of beer in the house – IPAs and beers with ABV greater than 8%. I’m not a hophead and drinking a single 8+% beer means I’m headed to bed. What’s a girl to do? Go shopping, of course.
In my defense, we are hosting a beer and food pairing dinner this weekend and Beer Geek’s 50th birthday dinner is next weekend…
2. A few weeks ago I ran in the Another Mother Runner virtual 5k (ish). I just got my sticker and I’ve added it to my collection on the beer fridge. I think it may be time to start using the big door too.
Feel free to send me stickers/magnets if you have them for your blog or company!
3. I’m still recovering from Sunday’s race. I ran 2 miles yesterday and my quads screamed with every step. I wanted to run today, but my legs are just begging me not to. Instead, I’m gonna do a tabata workout from the last session of Best Body Bootcamp and call it good. Also? Think I might lose a couple of toenails…
Bonus Question: If you could choose any place to work part-time, just to get the social aspect and/or a discount, where would you work?
(Backstory: I work from home part-time. I love the work, it pays well, and it’s really flexible. But I’m a bit lonely during the day. The kids are in school and most of my friends work or go to school and my running buddy just moved to Germany. So, I’m thinking in the fall I might look for a part-time out of the house job during school day, just to get out of the house. I’m definitely going to apply to be a sub at the public library (I have my MLS), but I’m also trying to think of other options.)
I might work at a running store. That would be fun. But, retail hours would not be that great.
What about subbing in a library at a school?
I have a toe that is all sorts of not-so-fun colors right now, so I know the pain!
I can’t do hoppy beer eek…gimme stouts and porters!
I thought about working at a running store, for the deals but then I got really selfish and thought “I want to run races and not have to work at them”…I volunteer at races that I don’t do but I would like to be the one to decide which ones I can/cant do. Make sense?
Yeah. I definitely agree that you’ll be losing some of those nails. Black is never a good sign.
My choice of part time job would be either in a book store or in a cake bakery where I got to help decorate the cakes.
My ideal part-time job would be as a waitress in a bar on the beach!! (I’ve never been a waitress and would probably suck at it but…)
Love your beer fridge – we have a very similar drink fridge!!
I was going to say a running store, or sporting goods store..or maybe something with beer…
Bookstore. Coffee shop. L.L. Bean.
I work at my local running store 3 days a week, which I love!
