It’s rainy here today and Shoo decided he needed to get up early even though he has no school today, so my day is starting a little rough. Why is it that children have to be blasted out of bed on school days, but bounce out at the crack of dawn on days when you can sleep in?
I’m a bit of a bundle of stress lately. I have a bad habit of focusing on the worst possible scenario in situations. I’m wrapped to tight, I feel like I might implode. So, I’m taking it out on my house. It’s either sit and eat from the stress or clean until my fingers are pruny. It’s a good thing I clean with vinegar and other natural products, or I’d probably have asphyxiated by now.
So, here’s some randomness from my life:
1. My jaw is still sore from my fall. Apparently I jammed it up more than I realized. I’m gonna give it one more week, but I don’t even know if I should see my dentist or my doctor. Also, I have a lump of scar tissue under the cut on my chin. Who knew that a simple fall could have such lasting issues? It’s not like I fell off a roof or anything. Sheesh.
2. I have a half marathon this weekend. I am horribly undertrained. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to the calendar and upped my mileage sooner. Sigh. I’ve decided to run slightly faster than my long run pace as long as I can and then run/walk the remaining miles. I’m pretty sure I can make at least 6 (and maybe as much as 8) before I have to add in some walking. After this race, I’m going to look into “Run Less, Run Faster”. I am really enjoying cross training and my body gets cranky when I start running more than 3 days a week, so I’m hoping I can get to a point where I can run stronger with piling the miles.
3. Revolve DC has offered a free ride to me and 20 of my friends. I have a few spots left. If you are in this area and have availability on a weekday, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details. I’ve been really loving riding lately and can’t wait to share it with friends!
On the bright side, my parents should be here in a few hours and we have a four day weekend. Now if it would just stop raining…
Hope you are having an awesome Thursday!

I hope your jaw feels better soon. And I hope that you surprise yourself with your race.
I hope your jaw is feeling better already. Not nice at all. My son also gets up super early on any off days. All the best for the race this weekend, enjoy!
Why is it that we are always awake on days we don’t need to be?!
I sure hope that jaw is feeling better 🙁
Thanks for linking up for #FitFabFri last week!
Run Less, Run Faster got me to my PR two years ago, and kicked my a$$. I wonder how it would work, training for 5 in 5….where I think you need to run all the miles to train?
