Today on Tuesdays on the Run, the topic is July 4th. In the US, that’s Independence Day and we’ve been known to celebrate by watching fireworks on the Mall. (We’ve also been known to celebrate by going to bed at our normal time. Yeah, we are exciting like that.)
This year’s a little different. I’m sure I’ll go for a run like I did today and then we are going whale watching. Not a bad life, really.

Whale watching sounds fun! I’m sure I will also go for a run and then maybe go to the pool for a bit. I’ll probably be in bed just as the fireworks are getting started:)
I have a sweltering race with friends, then brunch, then . . . nothing. We don’t go anywhere because of the dogs.
Must be weird being out of the country on the 4th! We’ve never done that.
Whale watching? How fun is that? Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate the 4th. Our small town puts on some fantastic fireworks. I think we will watch them while trying to comfort our dog, who hates the boomers!
I’m really anxious to hear about your trip down under! The little tidbits you’re leaving make it look like a fun time!
hope you post pics! I’ll be racing a 10 miler.
Wow! Those are some great plans. Even though you won’t be celebrating here, it sounds amazing. We were once in Ireland for a the 4th of July and they had American-themed celebrations at many local bars 🙂
We will probably be just relaxing and cooking out at a friend’s house this year. With it being in the middle of the week and having a newborn, we are taking it easy.
Whale watching is fun! Did that once in Boston but would love to do it again.
Unless I’m on vacation, I’m usually in bed at my normal time too. I’m an early bird, and I can beat traffic going into work. That means I need my sleep. I’m not sure who has fireworks this year since a number of counties have fire bans. Our mild winter means it’s already been an active wildfire season.
Whale watching? How fun!
I bet the fireworks are pretty cool in DC!
Whale watching sounds super fun! I’ve always wanted to do that. I normally don’t celebrate the 4th, but I’m on vacation and in Atlanta so I’m going to see if there’s a cool place to see fireworks tomorrow evening!
Hope you are having a great vacation!
Hope you had a nice time whale watching for the 4th!
