I can’t believe it is May 1 already. Or that I have 3 races to run left this spring and they will all be done in 9 days. Gah! As you are reading this, I’m out running a marathon, but I’m still joining up with my friends Deborah, Coco, and Lynda for a virtual coffee date.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that as I’m writing this before I start running, I’m nervous as all get out. It’s going to start nice and cool tomorrow, but will quickly warm up to the mid-high 60s. I have had zero time to acclimate to that, so my goal first and foremost tomorrow will be to get in plenty of electrolytes and fuel during the race. Luckily, Mainly Marathons provides one of the best aid stations I’ve ever seen, complete with freshly made pancakes, quesadillas, and home made cookies. It is, quite frankly, the only marathon series where you can take in more calories than you expend.
If we were having coffee, I’d also tell you that I had a blast at the Pennsylvania race. I wasn’t running, so I chatted with people, ate from the amazing food table, and took pictures of Kim and the course. It was an absolutely beautiful course, but there were some noticeable hills. I was actually quite happy I wasn’t running.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that Lotta Breeze Capris make decent pajamas in a pinch. Because, while I packed 4 full running outfits (for 2 races LOL), I did not pack a toothbrush, pajamas, or sunblock. Packing fail. Thankfully, this series is not in the middle of nowhere, so I was able to hit up a Walmart and pick up everything I forgot. Tonight I’ll be sporting these classy boxers:
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the best part about this series is the people. So many genuinely nice people, from the director and his “staff” AKA friends and family, to the runners, to the various friends who come with runners. As long as I can continue to figure out ways to work the Mainly Marathons races into my schedule, I will.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m a week out from Ragnar Cape Cod and I’m not at all ready. I’m super excited to run it, but have not had any time at all to focus on it. None. I don’t even know what the weather might be like, so I have not even thought about outfits. This is so different from last year where I wrote a bunch of different Ragnar posts, including how to pack LOL. Guess I’d better revisit that soon.
Finally, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the Tuesdays on the Run topic is “Best race you’ve ever run”. Interpret that however you want.
Remember, if you link back to us, you can add ANY running related post and it doesn’t have to be written on Tuesday. So, we’ll see you there, right???
Happy Saturday! What would you share with me if we were having coffee???

Ragnar will be a cakewalk after your back to back marathons! But will you be taking time off after all this?
I would love to eat more calories than I expend in a marathon. Not sure how my tummy would react, though. You will have such fun this weekend. I’m sure there will be great stories to tell. Love the batman boxers BTW. Wendy is right, Ragnar will be a piece of cake. Oh…more calories.
Hope you’re having a great time on your race! :] All that food looks awesome! :O Races that feed/fuel you well are wonderful! :]
Good luck on the Ragnar!!
That food station is nuts!! I wouldn’t even know what to do haha. You’ll be great at Ragnar!!
You’re going to do great this weekend! And, seriously, that is some food station – wow! Given all the running you’ve been doing I wouldn’t worry about Ragnar at all.
Did I read this correctly? Three races in 9 days? Oh my goodness. The Ragnar will be so fun and I so wish I could get on a team out here. Thank you for having coffee with us today 🙂
Can’t wait to hear all about your races this weekend! I know you rocked it. Not Ragnar ready is the understatement for sure. I know we will have loads of fun though. Thanks for linking up for coffee today always love these posts.
I hope the weekend is going great – 1 down 1 to go!!!
WOW that looks like a killer aid station!! That’s alot of yummy food. I helped at an aid station for a 50K trail race here in Iowa, and we had nutella rolled in tortillas, chips, m&ms, peanuts, gatorade, water, gels, chews, fruit snacksm PB&J sandwiches and other goodies that I cannot recall right now. Almost made me wish I had been running it.
Good luck with all your races…cannot wait to read about them!
Oh goodness. Who can get food like that down during a marathon? Not I! Hope your race went well and I think you’re more than prepared for Ragnar.
Wow, I read on fb that you were doing 2 races this weekend…you go girl! I don’t think that would be something I’d do. I have done a 5k followed by a half in a weekend and that was tough enough. LOL
How exciting that you’re going to be doing Ragnar, I hope to do one in 2016 or 2017. It’s been on my bucket list of types of races I’d like to do. They sound like such a fun and crazy adventure!
Hope your races are going well and I’m sure you are out there rocking some Skirt Sports! 🙂
Sounds like a crazy fun weekend, I don’t know how you do it! Lol. Love those boxers, haha!
YOU ARE SO SO SO SO AMAZING!!!
I wanna know how youre feeling this morning, too.
