you combine PMS and a husband who is currently working too many hours?
Pancakes for after school snack, grilled cheese and pumpkin muffins for dinner (in front of the tv), and crustless pumpkin pie for dessert. Hmm, I’ll be standing over here waiting for my “Mom of the Year” award. No?
In my defense, the pancakes were because I bought some maple syrup today from a friend whose family makes it. We had to try it out. The pumpkin muffins were the most recent egg and dairy free version of a recipe I’m tweaking for Shoo’s Thanksgiving feast at preschool. And when you have leftover pumpkin, you have to make pumpkin pie, right?
Today I ran a pathetic 2.2 miles. I walked Jones to school and had a half hour of kid free time, so I thought I’d run a quick 3 mile run. Apparently I should have stopped at the potty before I left his school. ’nuff said. It was supposed to be a rest day anyways, so I’ll just add it to my grand total for the year and call it good.
The busy week ahead will include some volunteering in Jones’ school library, a couple of random volunteering meetings, praying that our 1995 Jeep passes inspection, and hopefully about 20 more miles. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for continued good weather!
Good luck with that to-do list! As long as the kids got some sort of food, they'll be fine. 🙂
None of that sounds bad to me!
no chocolate?
all sounds good to me! I'm sure your kiddos loved too!
I'm right there with you, we had chocolate waffles, and bananas topped with chocolate sauce and ham.
Um, sounds better than what I feed Nathan on a regular basis: cheese, rice cakes, and milk. That's all he'll eat.
I betcha the kids were lovin' the food. I made breakfast for dinner a few times because I didn't have anything else in the house and now my kids request it! I give you props for getting a couple of miles in, despite having to stop early. 🙂
Sounds like a good dinner to me!Good job getting the impromptu run in.
bet the maple syrup was awesome! 2.2 is better than nada! Especially on a rest day 😀
Sounds delicious to me. But I'm preggo, so you can't pay attention to anything I say about food.
Ha ha! Sounds a lot like my house tonight! I don't even remember what I fed my kids… but since I remember that they didn't complain, it must have been on the bad side of good for them.Sounds like you have a busy week ahead!
I used to love when my mom gave us breakfast food at times other than breakfast! it was such a treat!
I'll be right over. Sounds like dinners mom used to make for me and I turned out OK, kinda, sorta.
I'm always on the edge of my seat when it comes to car inspection! Hate that.I've done much worse in terms of dinner. MUCH.
Mmm, pancakes and pumpkins….Sounds like a busy week! Good luck with the miles.
We have pancakes at least every other week for dinner, so I'm right there with ya! Good luck on the volunteering. Sounds like a blast!
