When Black Friday takes you down a rabbit hole

December 3, 2018 by MCM Mama 11 Comments

On Black Friday, I bought a stove. Not just any stove – a normal sized stove. Which means it did not fit in my kitchen. So, my kitchen is currently completely ripped out, waiting for the new cabinets that will fit around the new stove. As you might imagine, I’m a little bit focused on that right now and if I were to right a “gifts” post as is our current topic, I’d probably write about things like sinks and counter tops. Instead, I’m totally copping out and referring you to the posts I’ve written in the past. I promise if I survive this renovation, I’ll be back focused on running again. As it is, I’ll be cramming in one measly mile this evening.

Here are my best suggestions for gifts (other than to just go buy everything off of Skirt Sports. They really hit it out of the park this fall.)

Fingers crossed that things go smoothly and I’ll have a working stove and a sink in the very near future!

Ugh about your stove! We need a new one too and almost got one on Black Friday – but ended up getting a friend’s old one insetad for free. Which I’ll take for now! But now I want to go shopping and buy all of this running stuff. I’m not even a Ragnar runner and want it all!

That sounds really annoying and like a lot of work! I hope it isn’t too bad and the renovation doesn’t take too long.

Good luck with that renovation! We did ours when I was pregnant with my youngest (who is now 19). Not sure how we did it. Not sure I’d want to do it again!

I’ll post when they complete their part, but it may take me until spring to complete the painting that is my part LOL.

Renovations are never fun, but the end result usually is!

It’s going ok. A few small surprises and a few problems and even when they are done I have work to do, but we are getting there.

Sorry about your stove! I hope things get straightened out.

Lots of great gift ideas! I definitely need more Ragnar swag!
