is probably when you need it most.
I was in a crappy mood this morning. Some of that was hormonal, some was the rainy weather, some was just random little annoyances. I took the boys to school where Shoo once again did not want to stay. Then I had to deliver the neighborhood newsletters (which normally is not an issue, but usually they come on the weekend.) In the process, I got yelled at because I had to slam on my brakes to not hit someone. Nevermind that HE was driving on the wrong side of the road. (Why is it that people in the wrong feel the need to take the offensive? It would have just been a mild annoyance if he hadn’t yelled at me. Instead, he pissed me off.)
Anyways, I was in a “I’m going to go sit on the couch and eat chocolate and read a book” mood. I called Beer Geek to whine, expecting him to commiserate. He told me to go to the gym. I whined about feeling guilty if the spin class guy saw me. He told me to take the class.
WTF? He’s supposed to be all “I’m sorry, honey, you’re right. It is a crappy day.” Not all “suck it up, buttercup.”
He was right.
The spin guy nearly killed me. Then (because I got to the gym late) I did upper body weights afterwards. Apparently, instead of sweating with the oldies at 8:30, I was lifting with the steroids at 10. Seriously, some of these guys had arms as big as my thighs and I don’t have small thighs. So, of course, I couldn’t go light on the weights LOL.
Will someone feed me if I can’t lift my arms tomorrow?
Sweating with the Oldies, perfect…that's my gym too.
Yay for a hubby that knows what you need. :)Glad that you went and are feeling better! I am always grouchy on days when I don't run/exercise and I am not a grumpy person. Hope the rest of the day is better!!
nice!I will feed you. But you have to drive here.
I know what you mean when you are working out with guys that have arms bigger than your thighs. I went to a gym like that and I always felt I had to pump a lot heavier iron than i would of if it was just girls. Way to pump some iron girl. Hope you are feeling better.
i kinda wish some days david would be more like that!
haha, he knows you well! You may not be able to lift your arms, but how much better do you feel?!?
You'll have to live on smoothies — you just need straws for those!I know what you mean about mood; whenever I'm feeling angry/anxious/frustrated, etc, I KNOW I need a run!
Love it! My hubby does that too . . . if I am cranky he kicks me out of the house and tells me to exercise.
Best way to turn a day around.ever! (your hubbs is a keeper!)
One of those cases where you don't mind if the hubs was right! Glad it turned the day around for you.
I sooo know those days where the LAST thing you want to do is workout. Good for you sucking it up and getting 'er done!
my hubby will always tell me to go for run or gym when i am in that mood, he is right but i don't always listen….
Loved your comment on Katie's blog – I recognized the word bike! I LOL at that one. I plan to get a road bike at some point. But there is so much I don't know I read these posts to try to learn something.Sorry Shoo doesn't want to go to school. How is he once he is there and you have gone?
I'll feed you too! 🙂 I'm glad i am not the only one with crappy moods. 🙂
sometimes a good workout can really cure all 🙂
Congrats to the winner! You are truly inspiring. I have really not gotten back into running since my daughter was born, but I would like to! I would love it if you would check out my blog and link up one of your great posts to my Trim Down Thursday: http://www.copingwithfrugality.com/2011/09/trim-down-thursdays-exercise-you-love.html
