Yesterday, Kim from Just Trying is for Little Girls shared this picture on Facebook…
5 (half) marathons. 5 days. 5 different states. And I need all 5 states.
My first thought was “You crazy.” My next thought was “Hmm…” I threw out the idea to Beer Geek, who is usually my reality check. Instead of bringing my “great” idea to a quick halt, his response was “As long as I get to go too.” (’cause these would be all new counties for him. Yes, he tracks what counties he’s visited. )
Oh.my.
There are a ton of logistics to work out (boys would need to miss a week of school) and I need to start running more than 10 miles a WEEK LOL, but yeah, it sounds like a heck of a lot of pain fun.
So, who’s in?
Wow! Looks like a fun challenge. Wishing you the best!
I’m in!!
To cheeer for you I mean.
Hells no you’re not crazy. You. Determined.
Woah, looks crazy – and fun!! Sometimes the crazy ideas are the absolute best ones…
sounds like fun! i’m in, the same way Miz is in. we’ll be there cheering for u!
I’m so excited to do this! Can’t wait until March to see you again. I love how supportive your husband is. Get him to volunteer so you can get some free race entries. I plan to volunteer in the two states I don’t need.
That is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I wish..
Nice find. Go for it!!
not.crazy.
Determined and motivated
have fun
I wish! I would love to do something like that … Not sure that the travel would be feasible with a 2 yo, maybe someday when she’s older. I’ll be cheering with Miz!
I’m not sure how it’s going to work with a 10 and 6 year old LOL. We’ll see…
Wow! That is awesome. And very tempting.
That is a whole lot of crazy right there! Crazy fun!
I hope so. I may not think so by day 5.
Guess I better figure out a training plan…
I live half an hour from Ulysses, Kansas, so I’d love to meet (and maybe run with) you if you do this. I’ll give you a warning…you will be running in the absolute middle of nowhere. Ulysses and Guymon are both teeny-tiny towns (bigger than the town I live in, but that’s not saying much). But I would bring you beer!
Thanks for sharing about the size of the towns. I figured these races would be teeny tiny and not supported like the big ones. I hope you can run with us!
Crazy. But fun, good crazy!
Definitely sounds interesting and great that it meets both your desires. Has Beer Geek done all the counties where you live – your state? You can tell I am sure that I am quite interested in this whole geography thing. Great goals and fun.
Love the idea! I say, go for it!! I would be crazy enough to do it,but I do not think my body would comply. Running 2 halfs 7 days apart caused my IT band to get very angry . . . so much so, that months later, I still cannot run.
Rest assured, I will not be racing 5 days in a row. It’s going to be all about hitting the finish line.
Awesome idea! If it weren’t for the travel, I’d be in!
That’s some serious running. What an adventure!
This looks absolutely awesome!
Ohhh…. sounds like fun! (I must be afflicted with a similar strain of crazy.) 😉
Can’t wait to read about your travel running adventures!
wow! i am totally not in shape for this but GO FOR IT! would be an amazing experience 🙂
I saw that and did the same thing too. I pulled up the website, looked at the two different options, and have left the website pulled up on my phone so I guess you can call me crazy too because I’m actually considering it!
