I love shoes. (Yes, I realize that it’s amusing that I run minimalist and that I spend most of my time barefoot and still have a huge collection of shoes.) When I’m packing for a trip, I have a really hard time only taking a few pairs of shoes. Sometimes I have to though (like when I’m packing for two weeks for four people…)
When we went to Oregon and Washington, I managed to take only four pairs – my running shoes, my sandals, a pair of Vibram Five Fingers, and a pair of Merrell Pace Gloves. While the other shoes all got worn a time or two, the Merrells were pressed into service every.single.day.
Hiking in a random park…
Even while checking my email at a museum… (addicted to electronics much?)
I also wore them to Crater Lake, about 16 different brewpubs, and hiking on a snowy mountain. These shoes are just awesome. I’ve reviewed them in the past, but have since found my feet are too wide to run in them (just discovered they have a wide width, hmm.) But for an absolute perfect, cute shoe that can go anywhere including some pretty rough hiking, I have to say that the Merrell Barefoot Pace Gloves pretty much rock my world.
(No, I was not compensated for this post. I bought two pairs myself (and want to buy another pair). I just think they are great shoes.)
